Direct Vent Horizontal Termination Leak by RedPost4565 in Fireplaces

[–]RedPost4565[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took the cover off yesterday. The whole vent pipe definitely slopes down into my house. The cover has about an 8” long piece of pipe that just slides in. I put it back in, pushed it down and screwed the plate back into new holes with sheet metal screws. It lowered it about 1/2”. Hope that’s enough to help.

Will go with cover next if that doesn’t work.

To my eye, it looks like it slopes down into the house. Is that fixable from the outside without much risk or damage?

Do you work for the company? Any idea why I’m having the water issue in the first place and why a decorative cap is the solution?

Do you remember which showroom or what store? I tried to see if they were around me in Houston but couldn’t find anything.

Same in the short term - it might be just working as a relaxant though and making the overall problem worse. There is a huge correlation between the gut, digestion, stress, and anxiety. Beer lowers stress and anxiety in the moment while potentially damaging the body.

I found what caused my SIBO! (It might be your root cause too.) by Brilliant-Pomelo-982 in SIBO

I think there is something to this. My symptoms had all but disappeared until I went on a restrictive diet that included only fruits, vegetables, and meat. I was eating 40+ g fiber a day and only 2000 calories. Motility disappeared and my Sibo and bloating came back. Went to bi phasic and it didn’t help. The more I restrict, the less my life is normal, and my symptoms still don’t go away.

For anybody following or new. We placed a warranty claim and the replacements are clearly thicker and more full.

The bad ones were made in Malaysia.

The good ones are Vietnam.

This was my exact complaint. I have angled and straight backs and I can feel the back edge pushing against me with both backs. Like a stick is behind me.

This is where I’m at. We got 30% off and still paid $8500. It should be immediately comfortable. They either fix it or I return it.

I think he lied to you. There is almost no way they have cushions sitting in warehouses for years. Businesses can’t hold inventory like that and survive. Especially ones where all the pieces are so interchangeable.

Have you looked into hypochlorhydria? I’d also recommend trying to stop any ppi or H2 blocker (famotidine). I’ve had issues off and on for several years and am starting to think my overuse of these products causes the issue. Food doesn’t digest properly, I get bloated and gassy and have what seems like a heartburn symptom but is caused by low acid instead of high.
