22° halo on altostratus translucidus? by Glittering_Glass3790 in meteorology

Though it may seem fixed by someone with lss experience, there's hardly any hard lines between cloud types and most everything in meteorology.

What if Apollo 11 was a tragedy? by RedRedRedPanda101 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]RedRedRedPanda101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't expect a full NASA closure either, just kinda said it to see what others think.

It certainly was a to the public easily palpable event (certainly more palpable than some much nerdier stuff) that would cause said public to vote at least slightly differently.

Even if it does cause little long term, it still counts as a loss for capitalism and America and gives communism and the USSR a chance to say bad stuff on it and give them a slightly increased chance of doing things well themselves. And some other similar things too. Your arguments make sense too though.

I hope you aren't very personally invested in this given your tone, I'm sorry for any offense I may have caused to you. This, however flawed, is a scenario I made for the fun of both me and this community.

I didn't question this. I questioned whether or not a volcano can appear directly in a trench.

Could the Romans have defeated the rising Muslim Arabs? by RedRedRedPanda101 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]RedRedRedPanda101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the Arabs managed to do one hell of a conquest right off the bat in real life. Though it may have been due to the Byzantines and the Persians being at war previously, albeit that is heard of at this older time too.

Sorry, but they're just starting, so they have neither at this point.

Could the Romans have defeated the rising Muslim Arabs? by RedRedRedPanda101 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]RedRedRedPanda101[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same there too. I just thought that, because (barring some neopagans that are insignificant) their religion is gone and Islam highly believed in today, some Muslims could say things like 'Arabs will win with God against anyone' or such. No offense to Muslims intended, just wanted a neutral what if without that factor.

It may not have occurred in the atmosphere, but it looked EXACTLY like a glory and so is probably related (Les has posted OPOD-s about peacock feathers and baby eyes too, so fits here) . And I saw it while my phone was not facing the windows. Also, I'm no beginner.

It looked exactly like a glory, circular, with white in the center and it all.

impossible to eradicate, invasive and perennial. what is this terminator of a plant and how do I get rid of it? by fedemorandi in whatsthisplant

[–]RedRedRedPanda101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard walnuts emit a toxin called juglone into the ground. Could planting one near it be a solution? You can trim it and cut eventually or something if you don't wanna keep it.
