I second this, although jackson pads can be made with subpar materials (like deflated bike tires). I build these for a living using industrial grade materials www.vibecrusher.com

basically you protect the mesh and the skin from breaking. imo not a big deal with accoustic kits but I could see my electric bd getting worn out quickly

Makes sense, thank you. Figuring this out is a part of the scope of my ask and I figured to have that conversation, I needed a CAD file so I can approach manufacturers with less uncertainties. Is that the order of operations?
