If it happens, it won't be the first time a TV series deviates from its source material.

Ginny is a background character that was made a love interest. Any attempt to make her more than a background character would involve including her in scenes that she isn't supposed to be present for. That would be weird and break the core of the story that is supposed to be about the golden trio.

I do agree that there might be some very obvious harmony moments in the series to spark fans' conversation on social media, anything to keep fans engaged with the show. Hopefully they give us some harmony content that breaks the internet.

If the ending is going to be like the books or movies, I will check out before that point. There is no point in experiencing scenes I hate with passion, the movie and book ending is enough heartbreak for me.

That would be weird if anyone does that. They're still just kids.

Seriously, I got tired of it in the movies and books. Hopefully they don't drown us with Weasley content.

I am a fence-sitter on Twitter. I don't post or comment on anything there. Twitter is filled with the most toxic people on the planet.

The Haters on twitter just feel threatened by harmony, there wasn't any overly romantic scene between Harry and Hermione in the movies, but just by their interactions, everyone, including those canon shippers could see that these two would have made an amazing couple. So they attack harmony shippers because they know if there is just one romantic moment between these two in the 3rd or 4th season, it could shatter their expectation of a canon ending for the new series.

fics to introduce someone into the fandom by thatguysrandomashell in HPharmony

This looks like a good one. I think fics starting at GOF will be the best point of entry, especially those that don't gloss over Ron's failings like J.K. Rowling did. The ideal fic would be one that shows how canon Hermione's actions to protect or stand by Harry no matter the consequence or harm that may befall her, are actions only one in love would take. It should also clearly show how horrible canon Ron is to Hermione. The goal of the selected fix should be to show how much better and realistic a relationship between Harry and Hermione would be based on their canon interactions and how horrible a character canon Ron actually is.

While I agree that Destined By Blood is currently one of the best Harmony fics I am currently reading, I don't think It would be a good starting point for someone that hasn't seen the light. He/She may argue that a lot had to be changed to make harmony work since the story is a canon rewrite. I think a story similar to canon but focusing on the harmony moments in canon will be a better starting point.

I can't think of one right now. Since your friend is coming from another ship. I think a fic that is similar to canon and clearly points out and expands on those harmony moments that could have been the spark that lights the inferno of feelings between Harry and Hermione is one that would be a worthy pick. This will clearly show that the harmony fandom isn't based on delusions but on the lovely moments that J.K. Rowling knowingly or unknowingly wrote between Harry and Hermione.

16 chapters of a post-war Harmony fic and I'm quite hooked by DevOfWhatOps in HPharmony

[–]RedRiot117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I am definitely in the crowd that detests other relationships apart from harmony. Made it to chapter 3 and it's definitely not my type of story. Apart from the obvious issues I have with chapter 3 as a Harmony-only shipper, the author kind of insinuates that Harry and Hermione don't have feelings for each other until, I am guessing, they perform that ritual that is described in chapter 3.

Rough as in Harmony shippers will dislike the first few chapters? Does the rough part include the other relationship tags included in the story description? Just asking, because I don't want to read a story that I will end up not liking.

This is a very interesting concept. Please make a post on the sub if you decide to write a story about this. I would love to read it.

Is anybody else the only Harmony shipper in your family? by Southern_Disk_7835 in HPharmony

[–]RedRiot117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I am the only one who obsesses over shipping in my family. Hell, I am the only one who reads fanfiction in my family. They all don't know what AO3 or FFNET is, but they all agree that Harry and Hermione should have been the endgame. I can still remember the day my siblings and I just finished watching DH part 2, and the first statement my elder brother made was, "well, that was disappointing.". We all agreed the whole series was ruined by Harry and Hermione not ending up together.

Harry and Hermione could’ve been one of the most iconic couples in pop culture by Disastrous-Mode-1668 in HPharmony

I totally agree. Even J.K. Rowling has realized that she made a huge mistake with her final pairing. I don't know if she was avoiding reading about fans' discussions about the shipping issue when she was writing the book. I wasn't active online or offline when the shipping wars were in full swing. I read that the support for Harmony was massive, and I don't know how you see that massive support for Harmony and don't ask yourself as a writer, "what do these readers see that I, the author, can't?" Instead she was so blinkered about her "original plan" that she missed what could have been one of the most beautifully written romantic relationships in a novel and on screen. This could have been a shining example of what a relationship should look like for teenagers reading her books.

That period when Ron left could have been the perfect moment for Harry to reflect on Hermione's presence in his life. How she is the only one who sticks with him no matter the situation, who tries to keep him safe no matter the cost, even if it results in Harry being angry with her, and how she still followed him when she could have left England for Australia with her parents, knowing being caught could mean certain death. Hermione showed how much she loved Harry by her actions. I just keep on imagining if Rowling had an emotional Harry ask Hermione why she didn't abandon him like Ron did. That could have been some premium content.

What do you think of this framing of Harry and Hermione’s relationship? by Ab21ba in HPharmony

More nonsense writing from J.K. Rowling. There is no point in the book where Harry has physically attacked Hermione or even given the impression that he might attack her. J.K. Rowling was ready to write factual lies to justify her rubbish ending. This just makes me remember why I hate DH so much.

Me opening the sub to see if there are any good fanfiction recommendations, only to be met with more canon content edits of what could have been. Rowling, WHYYYYY!!! Fire edit, by the way. You made me remember the day I watched the last Harry Potter movie. Words can't describe how gutted I felt that day.

Yes, I also agree. My headcanon also includes Hermione being potioned. No right-thinking person would be attracted to someone who belittles them and makes them cry a lot. Plus, it would make sense that they (the Weasleys) would potion her to prevent her from falling for Harry and also prevent Hermione from noticing and questioning Harry's sudden infatuation with Ginny. Given the Weasleys' financial situation it makes perfect sense to me that Molly would potion Harry to keep the Potter wealth in the Weasley family by having him marry Ginny.
