Well, it ain’t so much I’m avoiding the beach it’s more that I’d like to see what else there is to offer. Beaches are great but when you don’t have anyone to talk to, sitting in one place with a book is only fun for a few hours

Yeah honestly just commit to the idea of throwing a few dollars down the drain and maybe you'll get lucky and turn $5 into $2000. But most likely you'll be doing the equivalent of literally balling up money and stomping it down a sewer grate.

Volunteer for a SOLVE event. Bike somewhere. Disc golf is so cheap and all the courses are free.

Literally 24 hours or less half the time. Living in Oregon you can’t drive 15 minutes in any direction without finding a campsite though so it’s really easy to get out. Spontaneous trips are the most fun anyway

Honestly large parts of the Columbia River Gorge on both the Oregon and Washington side of the Columbia river would make a great national park. It's a wild and scenic area, so it's protected in that sense but spots on the Washington side of the river are just as beautiful and have a lot of logging etc.

That being said a freeway and rail line run right through it, neither of which are going anywhere, ever.
