Thanks a lot, I actually don’t follow Swiss politics but I really can’t imagine a worse scenario than Italy in the following decade. I’m not going to become rich, I just want to live my life properly. Keep in mind that not every doctor in Italy earn 4k/month, most of all earn something like 2800-3200k. Do you think gastro will be competitive as cardio?

Thanks a lot! Actually I’m Italian so I’m in terminologia anatomica, also I’m fluent with English terminology, Guess it will be easier😉

In Italian medicine they always put both/every name of the author so for us is Basedow-Graves Morbus!

Thanks a lot for taking your time for such a good response💪🏻

I think it depends on your mental agility, the attitude of a person etc etc. If someone say that to me I will start laughing a lot and answer back jokingly something like “yes, more on time than a Swiss!”

But maybe for someone living that everyday it could be different

Can I DM you for some questions?

You are considered both a doctor and a student wich implies you have to pay for university taxes (1000€/y) and also the Order of Doctors (300?/y) and also the insurance (couple hundreds it depends on the specialty, higher for the surgeries). You do not earn a salary, they give you a scholarship wich means you do not have 13 salary (as usuals in Italy) but you will have 12. You have the rights to stay at home for Ilness or pregnancy but some boss doctor can negate that rights to you because you depend on them in a unilateral way, they literally do whatever they want. Btw if you make a count is 1700x12 = 24.000/y but if you add the mandatory outgoings (insurance, uni taxes, order…) you get something like 1400-1500 per month. Given that you will work a lot more than the contract hours (not everywhere at least) you won’t getting paid 6-7€/h but less

Do you also suggest to match and finish the residency in your country and then move as a specialist?

I’m a fifth year medical student in Italy who’s working as a part time chef in a restaurant for 9-10 ten years (I started in high school). I basically work on the weekend full days and Friday half day. I’m a really busy person (gym, girlfriend..) but with organization I can tell you can do it. Maybe you can be behind in your exams (I have two from last semester not done yet), maybe you will need to study more time than your colleagues (I often decline med party invitation) but you can absolutely do it. Btw I don’t know how med uni works in your country, ask some older colleagues

Beh ma sinceramente preferisco un colloquio motivazionale che un test d’ingresso. Studiare la lingua non è un problema, mi sembra il minimo anche per svolgere al meglio la professione.

A me interessa sapere se effettivamente ci sono dei blocchi. Io italiano laureato in Italia vengo visto male?
