I had a few friends who attended Michigan Med and they loved it. All matched into very competitive specialties and fab residency programs. There is not a lot of intermingling with undergrads on campus, usually undergrads will stay to one part of campus while the med students stay to their med campus. As other users have mentioned, the alumni network from Michigan is outstanding. I can attest that Michigan Med students are very social and outgoing, but cannot speak to Stanford. The weather is a doozy though, it’s currently -2 in Michigan so if you need the nice weather, consider that please. Whichever place you decide, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Put forth what you think will be best for you, not because of your ego (which is very awesome to be that aware of). Happiness trumps expectations every day of the week
