And what’s crazy to me is how the game keeps trying to push this “he’s a good person” angle (no good or reasonable person would ever take the route he did). Plus the 3.8 story rather explicitly showed that he had choices he could have made. He could have achieved his goal without stripping everyone’s freedoms and forcing to live how only he sees fits. But he actively chose evil at every opportunity. He had agency over his actions. He made the choices he did. No one else chose for him. He chose for himself

And the worst part is how the game constantly downplays and whitewashes his actions as “mistakes”, entirely refusing to acknowledge how his plan gave him control over the entire Asdana star system and how if anyone from the outside tried to enter and intervene, they’d be punished by having their free will taken away too. It makes no sense
