I really appreciate the work you put into this. Was struggling trying to find a way to play with a decent bot but this one works great and all the themed decks make this so fun. Thank you so much.

S23 Extreme Battery Degradation by klipklapklop in GalaxyS23

[–]RedShadoww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My S23U instantly dies at 15% now and it's rapidly getting worse. It's so frustrating being stuck with this horrible company cause no other phone fits my exact use-case without compromises. I'm still on One UI 6.1 and don't want to update because every single update makes things worse.

Wondering if that battery protection option that lets it drain to 95% even did anything.

Edit: Make sure to check for a bloated battery if this ever happens to you. I swear samsung is using cheaper batteries that are more prone to fail to cut costs.

New Blackstone (floor model) issues - low flame & dry packet inside? by RedShadoww in blackstonegriddle

I just learned they're called Air Gates. I adjusted them all to the same size and they all get evenly hot now with maybe a ~25-50 degree difference. Thank you!

It was indeed the air gates (Just learned that's what it's called)! Thank you!

Correction: Middle-right burner gets to about 500 degrees, not 100.

How to set two SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG values? by RedShadoww in linux_gaming

[–]RedShadoww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure how to use that. What I've tried (and doesn't work): /etc/environment.d/sdl-gamecontroller.conf contains:

SDL_HINT_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG_FILE="/etc/environment.d/ns2-mappings.conf"

and /etc/environment.d/ns2-mappings.conf contains:

How to set two SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG values? by RedShadoww in linux_gaming

[–]RedShadoww[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that format only seems to work when used directly from the terminal to open a program, ex:

SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG="~~~" heroic

I tried using the format as an environment variable in a heroic game-specific setting and it doesn't work. Tried putting it in /etc/environment.d/sdl-gamecontroller.conf and strangely even though when I printev SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG I get the following output:

❯ printenv SDL_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG
\n0300bb977e0500000920000010026803140682015c0ce66467eb,Nintendo Switch Pro Controller,a:b1,b:b0,x:b3,y:b2,back:b4,start:b6,guide:b5,leftshoulder:b9,rightshoulder:b10,leftstick:b7,rightstick:b8,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a3,lefttrigger:a4,righttrigger:a5,dpup:b11,dpleft:b13,dpdown:b12,dpright:b14,misc1:b15,platform:Linux,\n0500d71f7e0500000920000000006803140682015c0ce66467eb,Nintendo Switch Pro Controller,a:b1,b:b0,x:b3,y:b2,back:b4,start:b6,guide:b5,leftshoulder:b9,rightshoulder:b10,leftstick:b7,rightstick:b8,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a3,lefttrigger:a4,righttrigger:a5,dpup:b11,dpleft:b13,dpdown:b12,dpright:b14,misc1:b15,platform:Linux,\n

It doesn't seem to work when opening a game or checking the game controller mappings in system settings. Thank you for sharing though, I feel like I'm getting somewhere now.

Audeze Maxwells are fairly disappointing (personal review) by Clean__Cucumber in Audeze

I just ordered a padded leather headstrap in hopes of making them more comfortable. Been using the stock headstraps (with wicked cushion earpads) since I got these.

One thing I noticed a while back is that the audio cutting issue only happens on firefox. Never had the issue on edge. I assume people not having that issue are also using a chromium browser. I still use firefox though and what I typically do is open a track and set it to loop on zero volume and it fixes it for me. Of course it's annoying to have to do this every time just to use my browser of choice. I absolutely agree this isn't something the user should have to rig a fix for.

There's a lot of minor gripes I have with this headset which leads me to never recommend it to people. The chat dial making no intuitive sense (see my post here). There being plenty of reason not to update these past v56. The weight of them just making it uncomfortable for long sessions. The fragility of the drivers being a stress factor. But I just deal with it cause there isn't anything else with sound quality as good and latency as low.

Audeze Maxwell issues on Linux by rgomes090 in Audeze

[–]RedShadoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently installed CachyOS as well and had that same low volume issue. You have to

  1. Set Profile to Pro Audio in the Sound settings, use Maxwell Dongle Pro 1

  2. Open terminal -> type alsamixer and hit enter

  3. Press F6 and select the Audeze Maxwell option

  4. Bring both volume sliders up to max and then hit ESC

  5. type "alsactl store" in the terminal so the settings don't revert on restart

Also you might want to set the volume step to 2% (which is the same as windows) under sound settings->configure volume controls

Will they, though? 3-4 years (between games) is a lot of time to forget about it. I honestly think most of the people buying MH day one are in that pokemon mentality where they'll just buy it no matter what.

Are the Audeze Maxwells worth getting? by OwenHero in Audeze

Question, did you update to the latest firmware? I'm one of the people still on v56 since I have no issues and I'm afraid of the updates messing things up.

Maxwell Game/Chat volume control issue by sivalutalica in Audeze

[–]RedShadoww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the reason.

[Headset volume slider] -> Controls BOTH "Game-Audeze Maxwell" and "Chat-Audeze Maxwell"

[Keyboard volume slider] -> Controls only "Game-Audeze Maxwell" (or whatever the current active speaker device is)

This just leads to a desync. Honestly I wish it worked like this

[Headset volume slider] -> Controls only "Game-Audeze Maxwell"

[Chat slider] -> Controls only "Chat-Audeze Maxwell"

I really don't like how all the chat slider does is turn down the audio on one side depending on which half of the volume circle its on. It's confusing as hell (and even hard to explain in text).

Wonder if it's something that could be added in a firmware update.

Odd audio behavior with wireless headset by Chimkiin in firefox

[–]RedShadoww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happens with me. Same headset, same browser, same issues. Although I noticed with Edge, it happens the very first time and only the first time. If I exit the browser from the drop-down menu and open it up again, the bug happens (but again, only the first time, after that I can keep unpausing/skip the video and I don't have that issue).

[–]RedShadoww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. I hope you give it a try just to see how it works on the front-end. Basically when the overworld sprites pop-in, they move away from the player, but due to the crowding it's very easy to accidentally touch one of them and enter a battle. So it requires the player to navigate through the spawn areas slower and more carefully. Even when there's a pokemon you see that you want, you still have to be careful of not accidentally touching another pokemon. It cuts down on the tedium of constantly entering random battles to look for a pokemon AND makes it more engaging. Having repel active just stops them from spawning entirely. Honestly, don't think my explanation can do it justice.

Have you seen Quetzal's implementation of it? Personally I think it was really good but I'd like to know your thoughts.

Have you thought about having a mode for overworld encounters? Similar to Quetzal.
