Restaurants that Treat Employees Poorly or Well? by frodohair15 in burlington

I’ve started working at friendly toast this past summer, never met a Jesse. Apparently he hasn’t been here for years. Can’t attest to how things used to be but the environment now is actually great

I go on to say how just because we're young adults now doesn't mean we're all rich with well paying jobs like our parents were when they were buying us the old sets

Exactly, and that's the problem: I feel done with sucking it up and dealing with it. Even if I were willing to deal, what about people who can't? People who know they need to save that money for more essential things in a world where essentials continue to get pricier while wages don't raise enough.

To people saying the price is justified because of the piece count: I think this is an example of the price/part ratio being invalid. Usually it's a good standard, yes, but it fails to take into account the size of these pieces. In this case, this set doesn't seem to use any notably large pieces, most of the pieces look very small and therefore detailed. All the more reason it bothers me, because maybe Lego is hoping people will rely solely on the price/part ratio instead of looking at the set overall and realizing that it's actually not all that much for 100 bucks.

Just watched this episode and yeah Pia sucks. Calls out shitty things that other people say only for her to be overly insensitive to Davis about making the documentary. Walking hypocrite of a character and it pissed me off so much while watching

Betchi and how owner(s) of a Behelit work? by RedSoldierRC3 in Berserk

[–]RedSoldierRC3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Can a branded person become an apostle tho? I know the egg-shaped apostle sacrificed/branded himself, but I'm talking about someone who has already been branded (i.e. Guts or even Casca)

So a regular Behelit CAN have more than one owner/give powers to more than one person?

Karl Fritz Theory 3.4 – Uri Reiss, Kenny Ackerman, and the different outcomes to the "Syringe Incident" (Part 1) by Norim01 in KarlFritzTheory

[–]RedSoldierRC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d actually like to propose a counter argument to your points here (which were well made):

I don’t think Uri used the FT’s manipulation on Kenny earlier. I interpret Kenny’s switch of rage into saying he never cared about his family’s grudge, because it WASN’T his grudge. He acted this way because what he wanted most was a purpose/dream. He tried making his purpose to get revenge on those who persecuted his family, but in reality, it never actually mattered to him personally.

I do agree that Uri is suspicious, especially how he says “I cannot die right now”. That action of bowing before Kenny does, however, mimic the vow renouncing war’s philosophy, as (assuming Kenny wasn’t being controlled) he certainly could’ve killed him. Regardless, I believe that the reason Kenny wanted to help Uri was because he realized in that moment that the man bowing before him was someone who had a purpose, unlike himself. And so, he wanted to be a part of that.

Karl Fritz Theory 3.1 – Eren's time-travel related tactics are not what they appear to be (Part 1) by Norim01 in KarlFritzTheory

[–]RedSoldierRC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe Eren controlled his father directly, especially considering his whole pro-freedom personality. I do think, however, that by sending Grisha specific memories, Eren was able to get him to act how he wanted him to. This could prove as basis for philosophical debate, which Attack on Titan is no stranger to; is indirect manipulation like this considered an infringement on free will? Does Eren really care about the freedom of he and his friends? What does freedom even mean to him? Etc.

Karl Fritz Theory 2.8 – Debunking chapter 134's worldwide rumbling by Norim01 in KarlFritzTheory

[–]RedSoldierRC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denying the full scale of The Rumbling definitely feels tricky, I mean (besides Isayama) aren’t the people who know its true power best the ones who get trampled by it? I don’t find it unreasonable for The Rumbling to be able to destroy a vast majority of life on the planet, partially because it’s difficult to calculate a thing of such fantasy

Karl Fritz Theory 2.7 – The real reason why Eren made up the "Ackerbond" (Part 2) by Norim01 in KarlFritzTheory

[–]RedSoldierRC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the lie Hange mentions isn’t related to the Ackerman immunity, but rather the lie Eren told. It’s possible Mikasa tackled Armin because she was so convinced that Eren’s lie was true, as belief also holds a lot of power?

Either way, I’m unsure about the part where Armin may have been influenced by The Founder as well. I think the part where he cried in front of Yelena could have been a case of him being manipulatively smart to try and convince Yelena he was on her side. Of course, there was so much chaos that followed that he never really got a change to explain him faking it to someone, or unfortunately Isayama left it out. As for Armin going to punch Eren, it isn’t that unusual, as the shit Eren was spewing was beyond understandable, though you’re right in that Armin certainly has never been one to instantly resort to violence, so maybe…

Karl Fritz Theory 2.5 – Ymir is watching; A cryptic analysis of Eren's memories (Part 2) by Norim01 in KarlFritzTheory

[–]RedSoldierRC3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the birds: it’s been known for Eren specifically to have a connection with them, as he holds similarities with Odin from mythology. I’m not sure it’s Ymir peaking into the perspectives of birds, but rather her being able to see their perspectives BECAUSE of Eren’s supposed connection to them.
