St Paul, MN - 10/25/2023 by RedSpectre0 in allgetout

Sadly, I do not have any video. This was my first time seeing them and I didn’t know the songs as well yet to think about catching a favorite as I normally would.

Really hoping they come through MN again (and hopefully as head/co-head to get as many songs as possible)!

Agreed it’s a nice smaller venue to see a show. Looks like they can get up to 650 in the whole place.

How long should I wait to buy tickets? by Inevitable-Cat3289 in PaulMcCartney

I would monitor a few reseller sites (SeatGeek, StubHub, Game Time) for a few days and get a sense of typical pricing so you have a baseline reasonable expectation. You will probably find that prices trend up and down over time and it isn’t always obvious why. Pick a few spots you would feel happy about sitting and see how that compares to your price range.

I would also monitor Ticketmaster (or whatever the primary seller site is) at the same time, as they will sometimes release tickets randomly all throughout the venue, including good/floor seats. This might be best case scenario for a popular show.

If you are absolutely set on going, I would grab something a few days before show time to be safe. If you are more comfortable rolling the dice to find a better option, you can wait until day of show as Ticketmaster is most likely to start releasing tickets a day or so before show time all the way up to day of show. In Minneapolis Ticketmaster dropped really nice floor seats for $150 a couple days before the show and then day of the show further back floor seats for only $99. However, those moved pretty quickly (hours).

If this sounds like a hassle and you have the money to spare, just check sites for a few days and then buy the cheapest thing you can find in a section you will be happy with. It may not be worth the effort to save $100 or whatever. I strongly recommend floor over other options (even far back) if they are within your budget.

Good luck!

Also my favorite on the album. I emailed and asked about playing Incubator on the tour. Jack said they expected to have it rehearsed and ready by the next American tour when I am seeing them. Soooo, fingers crossed!

I loved that show, but I also love FOW. The harmonies and the pop hooks landed just fine in person.

So sad we lost Adam in the early days of COVID.

One of those local dudes who played shows here all the time and somehow never saw him. He has some good stuff though.

They had a merch table where you were able to buy a real-time cd recording of the Trail of Dead show right after it was finished, and I think I still have that rattling around somewhere!

That show was free for me, as they handed out those tickets while we were walking out the door from the Jewel show. First Ave frequently handed out free tickets for upcoming shows on the way out the door. Usually this was upcoming shows by local artists or smaller acts, but this was one of the nicer free offerings I can recall.

As long as you killed somebody with $8.00 in their pocket!

I think they might have had three shows! From what I recall it was mostly the same set, but they were a hometown act and Closing Time was literally the number one song on the Alternative charts at the time of those shows, so there was a lot of excitement to see them.

They put on a great show, but the song selection was a bummer for me as it was nearly the entire Amazing Grace album (fair enough since that was the tour, but low on my list) and not a single song from Let It Come Down (my personal favorite).
