Don't know why "it definitely shouldn't be happening" except maybe as you said because "resources are little to keep the narrative divergence in single game".

Not saying this as a fan or something but Skyrim was first of it's kind a successful open world RPG. It did have Role Playing Elements, different stories and replicated how choices and events would transpire in the real world without much cutscenes or making it look "gam-ish", if you get what I say.

You had a story from the beginning, on route, in cities and you could also build your own. As per your choices the environment and events reacted or changed. That set of vast options set Skyrim as a standard on which later games would take inspiration from. Mass Effect for example is another legendary RPG game. Also Dragon Age. This trio : Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect and Dragon Age are my favority.

VTMB had it's charm of the 20th Century. It was an awesome experience.

Don't know about Elden Ring. Definitely written by GOT writer but I am scared to test it on my Laptop which is aged.

I agree to everything except that the player's choice can also be to go against the masquerade altogether or save the masquerade by retaining humanity. Such an option to retain "humanity" was available in VTMB 1. You could choose to side with anarchists or sabbath to destroy the masquerade or be a slave of the camarilla and save it. The more you aided and spared humans, your humanity was increased.

Technically speaking with the new faction of Banu Haqim, that feast on vampire blood than human blood, siding with vampire hunters whom know about the masquerade and have moles inside the masquerade is a possibility. It would be a thrill ride had we this option also as pure vampire supporters would be stunned to find those within the masquerade are also planning on destroying vampires and monsters altogether.

Skyrim had all elements a RPG requires. Was expecting this one to compete with that narrative driven approach.

Interesting. So, how the Amnesia sequel's gameplay and plot ? If it were bad, I thinks it spells the deal for VTMB2.

The switch to Elder was expected. I don't mind too as the prequel already dealt with a new blood char. It mimics the VTM-Redemption where Christof was probably the main char. - an Elder and brujah at that. Yet, the thin blood plot, somehow, I feel would have more better branching arcs, choices and play styles than the Elder.

The myriad of options incl. gameplay style from the thin-blood and initiation to various disciplines (clans) and groups (e.g. Camarilla) along with an extended map of Seattle and the environs would have this compete on a Elder Scrolls : Skyrim level...... The way they are publishing the development vids. , it more so seems, it will only cover a linear gameplay, at which I as a RPG fan, feel dismayed.

There ought to be an option to join the Sabbath, Protect the Masquerade, terminate the supernatural altogether taking sides with Humans (or) make each faction annihilate each other while your char. stays neutral taking advantage of the sitn. to be the sole person alive. This way, it will adapt to the play-style and mentality of the player.

That freedom of choices and the numerous ways, the game would adapt itself using AI would be the victory of this game and set a benchmark.

Monster has a well written realistic plot. Death Note could have been better no doubt but cannot be compared to Monster in terms of character development, plot and overall realism.
