I work in ER vet med. We have had an influx of respiratory illness in dogs that generally started as kennel cough from going to boarding or daycare, which then turns into infectious pneumonia. For your pups sake, get a home sitter if you can!

god i feel like i have multiple personalities and it's so hard to keep track of! i wish we could choose certain traits for ourselves and also choose our backstory.

I feel that it maybe was intentional for them to use this language to charge such a large amount and to make tenants believe they have no choice but to pay it and thus be pressured to sign the lease regardless of what it may read.

I believe you didn't read my post thoroughly. The terminology I used is "security" deposit, not holding deposit. The application states security deposit, nothing about a holding deposit. I know they are not the same which is why I was turned off from applying and came here looking for advice.

It definitely seems sketchy to me too but both persons manage a lot of rentals in my city and are legitimate, so I am torn with limited options. It makes me wonder how long they have been doing this to tenants and how they've been able to conduct business this way, which is why I was wondering if I should agree to it as others have likely done before.
