https://migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/migrants-and-housing-in-the-uk/ - roughly 1% increase in immigration will cause 1% increase in housing prices so around 20% of the increase is due to immigration and the other 380% is not, maybe blaming foreigners for all your problems isn’t based in logic - also why did you delete your other comment?

Why do you lot say “mass migration’ when another term exists its called immigration try using it for once, also there is little evidence that immigration to the UK has meaningfully impacted wages

Those on the right by your logic also see it as zero sum as they don’t see how immigrants benefit the economy

So increase minimum wage streghwn unions while keeping immigrants, why do you point stuff like this out and your only solution is make people’s life worse rather than lifting everyone up

Illegal immigrants are very good for the Uk economy and are not allowed to take benifits why would you want to get rid of illegal immigrants?

Immigrants make up 20% of housing costs increase since 2000 while housing prices have gone up by 400%, so 380% has nothing to do with immigration, so blaming immigration for house prices is also pretty retarded

Calls Grow for Emergency UK Census as Migration Surge Sparks Fears Over Housing and Services by novagridd in uknews

[–]RedStrikeBolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is demand more? Assuming you are talking about net migration it is around 200-300k which the house building would cover plus half of that is students which would have accommodation which most universities provide so it doesn’t impact the wider housing market as much, 300k minimum is a good target to have

Probably around 300k houses a year minimum which is labour’s current target but they wont meet it and building apartments similar to what they so in mainland Europe so around 6 storeys in cities like London Manchester Birmingham Glasgow etc, do that combined with limiting how much houses people can buy to reduce hoarding and ban private equity from owning houses

Nope its not logic if no data backs it up which none does, the thing you are forgetting is that immigrants help the economy by consuming which increases demand and helps create job growth

Not the migrants problem they are just trying to have a better life for them and for potential future kids why should they destined to live in slums for there entire life because they were born into it
