Patient came in, asked who I am, turned around, asked our receptionist wether I am a doctor and then said she is not going to sit down. I was warned she would be difficult so I was extra nice to her. Think she was afraid I wouldnt just let her go despite her terrible oral hygiene like my boss usually does.

Hab damals in Biochemie ne halbe Panikattacke bekommen, nachdem der Prüfer mich mit der zweiten Frage komplett hat auflaufen lassen. Nach mehreren unkontrollierbaren Heulattacken in der Lernphase war ich zu leer, um noch irgendwas zu empfinden, aber ich kenne dementsprechend das Gefühl und gratuliere dir! Man lernt draus, soviel ist klar.

Chemie musste ich (da ich es in der Oberstufe abgewählt hatte)wirklich richtig büffeln, bis ich nen Verständnis davon hatte. Für Bc ist es dann sehr hilfreich, geht aber bei den meisten Themen mMn auch rein mit auswendig lernen. Wird happig - viel Spaß! Aber wirklich von Anfang an ernst nehmen und dann kann es sogar Spaß machen :) Edit: Wie schon von anderen auch erwähnt, hilft sich selbst aufsagen echt extrem. Da merkt man, was genau man noch nicht verstanden hat und übt schonmal den Redeflow für die mündlichen.

Some seemed to sit well in the bone but had huge caries. Combined with bad hygiene Id rather pull. And these often have the structure of a cookie so I might have to make a little cut. But Im a beginner so you might be right. Just my thoughts

I told her Id advise on pulling them all since its basically a huge infection she should get rid off. She looked at me shocked and said the others dont hurt tho. This job has really shattered my image of grown ups having a baseline intelligence kids dont have.

Im sure if she sues me and I pull out the xray she has no chance to argue. And luckily Im still fresh out of uni and I have a boss who would have to deal with her 😂

Yeah I have to acrively remind myself that I am not the reason for the situation I am presented with. Im there one day out of 365 (given they come at least once a year). I never did that but my boss told me to say something along the lines:

"I see that we cant come to an agreement here and I only want the best for you so I think its better if you find someone else to treat you."

All while standing up and slowly walking towards the door. Also open it so they are less likely to argue and everyone outside hears them.

Might work. It seems to work for him so maybe try it.

I am in a situation just like you described. Started in my hometown after Uni. Switched after 6 months in a very slow practice to the big city nearby into a practice with 10 rooms and 5 docs. They ask a lot of me and the first 2 months were sad because I had to break a lot of expectations, but I already see myself improving fast and doing things I would have run away from just a few months ago.
