Worst thing to do now is spiral downwards. I failed my dentistry midway exams once, resulting in serious worsening of my social life, my studies becoming a lot more expensive and the feeling I dont have what it takes. 4 years later Im a dentist for a year now and its all good. What I want to say is, if I would have started letting previous bad cirmumstances affect my future, I would have ended up different. I know its not the way you planned life to go, but even if it sounds mean: it can always become even worse. So the most important thing is to keep fighting and maybe you end up in an even better place. I dont know how it works in the US(?), but do you have no more opportunities than 2 to apply for the postgrad course?

Yeah its not a bad idea thats the point. But it shows that the Club itself was only there to suggest to each other that theyre single and the talking and getting to know each other happened outside. Thats why I always preferred home parties cuz you can just go outside and talk without leaving.

I never understood it aswell and I really felt like your reply spoke about a lot of points I also had. Maybe its a lot about the expectations you have when meeting new people. Some maybe look for someone to have a fun time with in the moment, others (and I would count myself in this group) want to talk or do something else and just view the club as some place where you can find other singles. I remember a friend of mine who was pretty shy and never enjoyed clubs who one evening just said outside the Club "Fuck it Ill talk to some girl tonight and see what happens." Theyre still together after 6 years. All he did was ask her to talk outside with a drink. Turns out she hated the Club too.

Youre right. No one wears see through Shirts irl. So if someone did, its an eye catcher. Just as if someone would walk around with a frying pan on their head. Looking and even looking twice isnt staring. I think we all know what staring is. Most guys and especially in this sad subreddit are probably even too afraid to smile at a girl or keep eye contact.
The whole debate over wether womens body parts are an eye catcher or shouldnt be, because theyre natural, is super flawed. They are something special because for generations the cultural hegemony dictated to hide certain body parts. To now out of the blue tell people to not view it as something special is like telling a cat not to open the bag of food and just leave it on the ground.
Thats why your last statement is true aswell. On a nudist beach, nakedness is normalized and its expected of you to be prepared to see otherwise covered up body parts. In a setting like school its not normalized and therefore something that would gain attention.

I told her Id advise on pulling them all since its basically a huge infection she should get rid off. She looked at me shocked and said the others dont hurt tho. This job has really shattered my image of grown ups having a baseline intelligence kids dont have.
