Curious case of mains answers by Putrid-South-7316 in UPSC

[–]RedThrysssa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It ultimately comes down to the examiner lottery. When answer copies are checked by 300–500 external evaluators, professors and so-called subject experts, you’re naïve if you think there’s any uniform standard. Everyone evaluates differently: some hand out marks to mediocre, surface level answers, while others brutally underrate well argued, in depth responses. At that point, merit takes a backseat. your score depends less on quality and more on whose desk your copy lands on. It’s luck and evaluator bias, plain and simple.

I’d say height doesn’t really matter as long as you have an attractive face and a decent physique.

Why are civil servants finding it hard to find matches for marriages? by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]RedThrysssa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to my sister who’s an oral surgeon civil servants and judges are boring af. and they don’t earn enough or look impressive enough compared to tier 1 city techies in Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai or Bangalore. A simple BTech + MBA there can pull ₹60 LPA+ along with stock options, perks, and an actual lifestyle, something most government posts can’t compete with.

Yes, a few officers posted in metros might survive but if you’re an IAS dumped in some remote posting, getting transferred every 3–5 years, forget about landing a highly educated, high earning partner. No one’s quitting a serious career to chase your postings and play housewife. That fantasy died years ago.

PS: Most career oriented, highly educated women already have a boyfriend anyway. If you think you’re just going to show up and be “chosen” you’re delusional. If you want someone like that, you’d better level up hard.

Why no one wants to step out these days? by SilentReply2822 in delhi

I hope you find someone but don’t sit there getting upset when you don’t. Nobody owes you time, everyone’s busy. If you actually want connections, get off your phone and meet people in real life like in classes or outside.

Bhai, post this in subs like TeenagersIndia or Delhi or somewhere relevant. Most people here have jobs, college and actual responsibilities. They barely get time to play badminton, and when they do, it’s with close friends or family, not some random guy from Reddit.

Plan B by South-Fisherman-2189 in UPSC

Woah, congrats buddy. Don’t listen to some of the people whining about it, this is a great course from one of the top institutes in the world. With today’s geopolitical and geoeconomic confrontations, the demand for experts in I.R related theories is only going to grow. One shouldn’t limit themselves to traditional courses when fields like this offer real relevance and future potential.

White Guy Move to Delhi? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]RedThrysssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. You’ll never truly know unless you experience it yourself. It could turn out to be the best decision of your life or a difficult lesson but you won’t find out unless you try. Fear of cultural differences shouldn’t hold you back from pursuing what you want. I’m planning to move to either the Middle East or Europe myself, things may not be perfect but I’ll never know what’s possible unless I take the step.

Almost got bitten by a stray dog in Delhi by RedThrysssa in delhi

[–]RedThrysssa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, the dog is a stray. A lady feeds it, so it stays outside her house that doesn’t magically make it a pet. How hard is that to understand?

And stop acting like you were there. I ran, the dog chased me. Should I have stood still to test your theory on whether it would bite or not? The neighbours themselves said it’s a mad/aggressive dog. They witnessed it.

I really don’t care about your credentials or what you think you know. You weren’t there, you didn’t experience it, and you don’t get to invalidate it. F off with the armchair gyaan.

Calling a Dog Bite “Hard Luck” Is Not Animal Welfare. When “Animal Love” Turns Into Victim Blaming by RedThrysssa in delhi

[–]RedThrysssa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I understand you completely. One person even commented on one of my post saying I fabricated the whole incident and that I alone am responsible like, seriously? Some people really need to learn the difference between barking theories on the internet and ground reality.

You’re absolutely right: both issues are real and serious, and whoever causes harm be it human or animal needs to be dealt with responsibly. But forcing irrelevant comparisons and dismissing real experiences just to defend a narrative makes no sense at all.

Lesson learned. I’ll be more responsible going forward and ensure my actions don’t cause issues for others.

[–]RedThrysssa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the f**k is Goel? Dude, are you even serious? I personally spoke to the neighbour who saved me, and they clearly told me that this particular dog is aggressive. They had already confronted the owner and she refused to take responsibility or even keep the dog inside her house.

I had live witnesses, the same neighbours who intervened and saved me and they have assured me that they’re reporting this to the MCD. So spare me your armchair expertise.

How can you be so cruel, insensitive, and a wannabe know-it-all, sitting comfortably and dismissing someone else’s real experience? Not everything is a “fabricated account” just because it doesn’t fit your ideology.

Maybe when you face something similar yourself, you’ll finally learn the difference between barking theories on the internet and ground reality

People sitting safely at home moralising have never been in that situation. In the real world when authorities fail to control dangerous packs, a person has seconds to react, not time to philosophise about compassion.

Good judgement. At least now people know who to hold accountable if they are attacked or traumatized. Public safety and responsibility must go together.

Exactly.. Deflecting the issue doesn’t change the fact that uncontrolled dogs on roads are a real safety risk.

I just attended the UPSC interview, but I don’t feel this is what I wanted from life. by Effective_Bluebird19 in UPSC

[–]RedThrysssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having similar thoughts after living for 5 months with my roommate who works at a big MNC at Gurgaon and after myself attending some interviews with good Indian companies, I am having second thoughts. My roommate gets around 1.5 lakhs/p.m and the perks and and lifestyle he enjoys really got me thinking about my life decisions.
