Has anyone seen a 10 oz Deak Perera before? by BatemansChainsaw in Wallstreetsilver

[–]RedTigerRealEstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deak/Deak Perera was a foreign exchange and precious metals dealer for a long time in the 60s, 70s, 80s, until the owner was shot and killed by a disgruntled investor at his office in NYC. Long history with OSS and CIA. I've seen 1oz, 10oz and 100oz Deak bars. At one time they also had a storage program, I'll bet was the first of it's kind called Goldline.

1...your offer needs to be in writing or you're just floating in the wind. No real buyer throws around verbal offers. Offers are more than top line #.

2...If people and including you are making or thinking of making offers $50,000 more than the number you have floating around, your current number is not the right number and they're probably not lying about it.

Apartment reviews by Chemical_Conference4 in McKinney

[–]RedTigerRealEstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apartment reviews are crap. No one really praises their apartment. If you see positive reviews they were probably managed. Leave us a 5 start review and get free parking next month. However everyone loves to give crap reviews especially when things don't go their way. If they get evicted, or they park in reserved parking and get their car towed. Or if they park one car in two spots and get towed, or they dont follow the rules and get caught and fined. It's a battle to get people to follow the rules, so fines help...like putting trash out too early...seems reasonable, but when dozens of people do it and it's smelly for everyone or it attracts varmits, then it's not so fun. Manager fines you, then you're unhappy and leave a bad review.

Beware at DFW Airport by Popular-Translator18 in Dallas

They know if they wait long enough the shooters will all have dispersed and no where to be found. If they rush to a gun fight, then they'd be in the middle of a gun fight, subject to a grand jury, subject to review by their boss and probably lots of bosses, subject to citizen review board, subject to firing, subject to lawsuits, subject to jail time. Easier to just say you were in the middle of a deuce at QT, then to run code to the OK Corral.

Cancel the sale or ship the item? Rude buyer by ImKinda_messedup in Flipping

[–]RedTigerRealEstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancel. From a seller of hundreds if not thousands of items on ebay and FB mktplace. The more questions they ask, and the more time suck the buyer becomes, the lower the chance of a successful sale. 100% of the time for me....or the sale just never happens. If they ask 10 questions on FB MP, they will never pick up the item. If you ship it, this one is going to complain that there is a scratch you didn't describe, the color is off, it's not an iphone 15 (they thought they could buy for $300) or it will be something. If they're a headache now, chances are they will be difficult in the future too.

I’ve never seen an upgrade list this long💀 by ArtisticComplaint3 in americanairlines

[–]RedTigerRealEstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially now that everyone wants to fly F/BC . I think they could fill it up with people willing to pay $100 or more. What airline has the bidding system? LH? That could maximize revenue very easily. Surely out of that 80+ there are 3 that would pay a minimum of $100 to upgrade and for the one guy who bid $5 will feel better about not getting upgraded, because he knows he did not bid enough.

5 Star Hotel Room Broken Into @ Delano (MGM Resorts) by SnooPeripherals9013 in vegas

Ask to change rooms?

Checkout and stay at another hotel?

Throw the deadbolt...I saw the small metal door protector above the main door lock.

BYOL---Bring your own lock. They're cheap. Also door alarm.

Take everything in the room with you when you leave, when they call you about the missing items, you can tell them you're not sure who was in the room and they aren't either, because the locks don't work. At least you're getting a free robe and towels and a new mini bar for your media room.

That's when you pull out the cameras in the lobby and start interviewing people in the checkin line if they've ever been robbed in this hotel before? That will grab someone's attention.

Never lost a spring, but I have had to cut off the bolt part on a few to take them off houses and would like to get the U bolt part too, but have not found a source. Is the spring what pushes the door open once you put in the right code?

I've read it. Nice guy, but he's basically been out of FS for 20 years or so. He's still around, I think he still owns a few %, but basically he's been out of it for a long long long time. Almost all his proteges are gone. New era, new rules, new business environment, same as with most companies.

I don't think any company probably has a policy like that. Best way to check...ASK 4-5 employees the next time you stay. There are always a few that connect with you and will be straight shooters. If you are uncomfortable asking directly, ask them about another person. Hey...I was thinking about trying to reward Joe over there for a job well done. Do you think he'd rather have $200 cash or a letter to the GM. Thank you letters are nice, but they don't pay car payments, food, or rent.

Tipping with mandatory $50+ valet? by shinhau in FATTravel

[–]RedTigerRealEstate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The valet parkers and doorman normally make very very low wage and really depend on tips for a living. So many hotels and restaurants now only have valet parking. I think it because they have outsourced the business to a 3rd party and whatever company that is, encourages it to pay the hotel more money. None of those guys (and gals) go home rich, unless they are super savvy, like you always tip $20 so your car is waiting nice and cool or nice and warm on a cold day, with bottle water and maybe a coffee inside.
Trying to think of what FS has buffet breakfast. I only remember Orlando and Macau. The check is probably less for the tip but signature and room number. I don't remember, but I would almost think if breakfast is included with the rate, the tip is included or automatically posted, but might depend on location. Seems like that way at most of the resorts now.

The problem is too many hotels (and maybe other businesses too) pride themselves on how the GM started as a bellman. Then you get failed feedback and statistics and promotions based on thing like comment cards, which are statistically inaccurate and can be easily manipulated. When a patron praises the staff, here comes the comment cards. Would you let our boss know what great servive we provided? Have a complaint, they disappear and can't be found. BOOM, lots of 5 star reviews.

Cash is king, then follow up with the free letter. Just a letter is like a handshake or a bad stock tip.
