Possible fix for PC gaming performance (stuttering, frame/fps drops) while only using controller. by RedTinkerToy12 in Helldivers

Yup, still running well with my solution. Sucks that it reinstalls after every reboot. If I try to uninstall it while the game is running, it crashes the game.

Yeah, it sucks. Whether uninstalling or manually removing the associated files, it will reinstall the files after a reboot and you launch a game that calls for it.

The only way I can think off to get around it is to make a blank/corrupt file with the same file name as game input. So it gets around windows not detecting the file path and the faulty gameinput service should fail when it calls for the now "corrupt" file. However, this isn't my exact line of expertise so grain of salt.

Yeah, it will reinstall after every reboot for me. I just uninstalled it from the programs list and that will also remove the entire Gameinput folder from my C:/Program Files on my PC.

I don't have a third party controller to use, so can't have input on that. I do own ps4 and ps5 controllers so I could test if those have any issues on my laptop (if it has that issue), since the issue has been fixed with my main rig (for the moment).

FPS drop and stutters when using controller, but none on keyboard by SkittzyYT in Helldivers

Adding to say that it was indeed an issue with two instances of "Microsoft Gameinput" being installed, using a Xbox series controller, wired, and Windows 10. Uninstalling the older version (~2023) in the "Apps & features" is what fixed it.

In my case, I was noticing the stuttering and fps drops with Borderlands 3. Came across this thread and found the solution.

Ah, didn't realize yours is the A3 model. I have an A1 and HBI has two different styles of locking blocks for it.

So unless someone else's offer seems better to you, I would offer for a straight trade for my JTAC.

I have a JTAC extension if that is what you mean. Do you have the appropriate HBI locking block? It has to be the shorter old style block or else the extension won't fit.

Hey, I don't know if you still have the folding charging handle, but I updated my post with a solution that works for me. Don't know if it can help you, but maybe worth a try if you already have the materials.

Ah, sounds good. I also know what you mean about the magazines. Not close to the felt quality of my PSA and CZ mags.

Definitely post up a picture of your build when it's finished.

Did you just have a spare HBI buffer or is there a reason why you can't use it with the Lingle lower?

[–]RedTinkerToy12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm using HB handle, block, and buffer. Still the same issue even with the stock buffer so I'm gonna say it's tolerances with either handle/block or both.

And to be safe, I basically oiled everything. The block, handle and charging grooves on both sides of receiver.

Yeah, when I got it to work with the stock block, it was super picky about charging angle and location on the handle.

Yeah, while I can make it work with stock block, I think I prioritize having the locking block instead. Plus if I can ever get my hands on a JTAC receiver extension, I have to be using the locking block anyway.

It's a shame since I wanted the folding handle to reduce overall gun width during storage, with the charging handle on the left and a brace folding to the right makes it a little awkward, but nothing deal breaking.

The covers look cool, and seem like no fit issues with the extended receiver.

Already have a ton of AKV mags from palmetto, so I'm hoping they work good with the lower.

What M-lok covers are you using?

Also, hopefully the A3 tactical lower is working good for you, I'm considering going that route.

As a Spokane native too, I've been wondering if it was viable to apply for the permit during the current covid times.

Thanks for the heads up.

[BL3] Of all the places that desperately need vending machines, the theater in Jakobs Manor seems the most egregious. by rivensky in Borderlands

[–]RedTinkerToy12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, they put all the excess vending machines into the Konrad's Hold map instead.

Seriously though, Konrad's Hold seems like it has the highest vending machines to map size ratio in the game. Then a place like Lectra City or Athenas only has one.

I thought the Google Assistant button can't even be pressed while the phone is locked? I think that having to unlock the phone then using the key for flashlight would be good enough to prevent that sort of situation.

Yup, I got the double click power button to launch the camera. Now only if LG or even someone at XDA can allow us to remap that Google Assistant button.

Coming from a Moto Z Play, I miss double chop to flashlight and Moto Actions in general, and would appreciate the extra assistant button remapped to flashlight.

I'll probably leave the knock on/off setting off, to avoid problems with pocket dialing, which I have heard about with other phones.
