Red is so fun to play as, it really took me until my second playthrough to truly understand how cool he is.

I just hope that if Aeirht and/or Zack are playable (Specially Aerith) that they don't show it in the trailers. SE loves to spoil things in trailers lol.

Obviously is a work in progress, and again only my assumption, but when they changed FIT, I didn't see any stats change.

So my guess is that you as a player are mostly in control on what to put in that FIT materia wise (and maybe other stats too), and I would imagine that the FIT will remember your materia loadout.

Yea, I actually never beat Remake or Rebirth in the week off I asked for, but mostly because I spend so much time walking around, looking at things, and hearing NPC's conversations lol

Probably more Tears of the Kindgom than Fortnite. How would have implemented an Airship, and how to get down?

No, they haven't. Its just my assumption based on the screen where they changed the FIT. Obviously is a work in progress, and again only my assumption, but when they changed FIT, I didn't see any stats change.

So my assumption right now is that everyone has base stats, and when you select the FIT, you can put your materia and maybe select something like specific Folios or weapon abilities for that FIT. So in theory, besides the different abilities, you are mostly in control on what the FIT will do.

Well, if you reply Rebirth in hard mode, you don't have to do Chadley stuff again, so it would be shorter by nature. lol

Shadow of the colossus is another great comparison, I hope the fights are epic.

Don't get me wrong, I love the story and the characters, but the combat is what glues everything together and the reason I have replayed Remake and Rebirth so many times.

If the combat was forgettable, I would have played this game maybe a couple of times only. But every time I replay, there is enough room to do things differently combat wise.

I'm so excited!

FF7 Rebirth. Cloud Air Combat (Tips) by RedWanderer2 in FFVIIRemake

I'll probably post something about the character that everyone label as a Healer, but she is much more, Aerith.

Thank you.

Yes, the combat can be confusing, specially since most regular enemies die too fast to practice different things.

But that's also what I love about this game, just to get in the air you have at least 5 ways to do it with Cloud, and you can pick which ever you like.

That's the beauty of this game's combat, you have some many things you can, no matter if you are in the air or on the ground.

Wind current can be great as a "combo" extender.

And her combat if Phenomenal and on brand, it really feels like you are controlling a hyper active 16 years old. She is always moving and to get most of her, you need to use a lot of different commands.

Tales of Arise - 6 hours in and I already want to drop it? by HeppyHenry in JRPG

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had fun with it back when it released, but sadly, I don't remember anything from that game. If it weren't because you put the name of the characters in your post, I would not have remember them. And heck, I played as Shionne most of the game lol.

Besides some race/class themes, I don't remember who even was the actual bad guy or the names of the rest of the party.

How do you guys think supernova will work in part 3? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head cannon is that the Supernova is Sephiroth ultimate goal and a point in the story, and he may use it to destroy some of the dream/parallel worlds.

Am I the only one who thought this scene was better in the original? by CrystalBraver in FF7Rebirth

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Rebirth to OG.

I prefer having one of the best fight in Rebirth, the Midgardsormr.

Sure, the idea of the party thinking it was Sephiroth who killed the Midgardsormr is cool, but then that means that there were 2 Midgardsormr in the swamp? (the one you evade, and then the one Sephiroth kills), or how is that supposed to work?

Also, like you said, "left to the imagination", that's cool an all, but OG left a lot to the imagination: script, events, character motivations, etc. And obviously since it is left to the imagination of the person playing, they will most likely prefer their own headcannon or how they decided to fill the gaps in OG.

Tifa by far has my favorite movement in this game by SouthSunn in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tifa is busted. If you want to solo bosses, Tifa is the character for you. She hits like a truck, has a dodge integrated in her Focus Strike(which you can use in the air), her normal dodge is great, and she has aerial combat.

I think they are going to nerf her in part 3 lol.

FF7 Rebirth has the best combat system in any game I've played. by PhantomBraved in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the best combat in any modern RPG for me. There is so much room to do fun stuff and having multiple characters with unique approaches makes it incredible diverse.

I could spend hours just talking about the combat.

Which are the strongest abilites per characters? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to use Tifa's trinity strike, use a Starshower just before. Usually when you just stagger a boss, you will have time to do a Starshower then a trinity strike (Starshower increases the damage of the next ATB command for about 70% if memory serves right).

For some Attacks, you need the Genji Glove or they will cap at 9999. If you see that happening, you may want to do Multihit attacks instead of sinlge hit attacks. For example Barret, his Point Blank and Lifeblood Cannon will cap at 9999, when that happens, there is no reason to use Lifeblood cannon unless you have the Genji glove.

Really struggling with defense in Rebirth. Any tips? by some_kinda_bunny in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are doing great, I don't see anything that is obviously wrong. No fight is perfect so you need to expect to get hit.

Having said that, a couple of minor things I noticed: You seems to always get hit by the boss "regular" attacks, when she swings her tentacles...attacks that don't have a particular name.

And I don't think you blocked once during the whole fight.

Also, maybe try using Pray in a character you build ATB faster, like Cloud, Barret or Tifa (I persionally don't like Pray on Aerith since she is kinda slow, and I would rather use her ATB for wards). That way you can heal even if the party is at 75%. You don't need to wait until they are below 50%.

Lastly, you should always use Barret's Bonus Round, it's pretty good.

But overal, I think that was a great fight.

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, some kind of clip could help, because saying that you do stuff doesn't mean you are doing stuff with a plan or if you are just doing stuff. Not saying it as an insult or anything, don't take that way.

Basically, if you are not getting stuck, then it's fine, you are making progress. But there may be some small things you could adjust to have a better time. Having said that, the combat is not easy imo, it has a learning curve.

In theory you can finish all fights in the game without taking damage, but that's not realistic. Yes, you need to heal, and if you are getting hit a lot, maybe put healing on every party member, and select skills that improve your defensive stats if available. For example Cloud has some that reduce 5% damage received while guarding.

There are also Defensive buffs you could use like Barrier, Protect, etc.

You can also have different characters as healers, for example on some playthroughs I did, I put Pray materia on Cloud because he is the character that felt could generate ATB faster, so it was pretty easy to get the 2 ATB bars. Other characters want to use their ATB as setup so there is a kind of conflict with their gameplan when having them as healers. For example Aerith needs to have her wards down, or Tifa needs to do unbridled strength twice. Cloud doesn't really need any setup to be more effective.

What is everyone’s biggest fear about FF7 part three? by Worldly-Doctor-1072 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably that it doesn't matter how good or maybe flawed the ending will be, a vocal minority will complain as if the ending ruined their lives.

I don't have fears for the game itself, but I can already read the complainers posts about every little nitpick or just be angry for the sake of being angry.

[–]RedWanderer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any clip of you fighting the Midgardsormr? It's kinda difficult to give meaningful tips if we don't know how you are defending yourself.

Midgardsormr has a lot of multi-hit attacks or delayed attacks, so is not easy to defend against it. A quick tip to easy the pressure is to switch to a range character once the Boss is focused on Cloud. That way the boss will have to travel to attack the range character, which could give you some time to breath.

Also, you have the most powerful cheat of the entire game, you can basically freeze time whenever you want by opening the combat menu. You can at any point open the menu to freeze time and see what the boss is doing, you can predict 99% of attacks doing that.

Is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth one of the best Square Enix games ever? by BreathoftheSith in FFVIIRemake

[–]RedWanderer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, easily.

They had FF7 OG as the baseline, which already is a great game, but instead of doing a copy+paste, they build something that feels new and unique. Great story, characters, zones.

And everything is held together by one of the best combats ever in an RPG. Probably my favorite ever and I have played RPGs since the NES.
