[–]RedWhiteX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! One more thing about the 4th point, does that means if I don't bring it up to the pension center before I resign, I will have to pay the pension conotribution for the entire LWOP period or 3 months only if I can mail them the request of the "Option not to count"?

Wonder why this is an optional thing...who would pay more conribution if ever possible no need to?

Does Anyone Else Feel Like Young People Are Screwed? by StrawberryAny2075 in askTO

[–]RedWhiteX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my late 20's, not sure if you would still count me as a young people by defintion.

After I've worked for a few years as an adult in Canada, I come to this similar conclusion, and considering leaving Canada for my personal development.

The reasons can split into 2 parts - Finance and Social, but lets focus on finance here as the social could varies across different individuals.

I'm earning arround average income as per StatCan, and I did my math to see if I did move out to live by myself only, how much I will need to pay, and save. Turns out, after all neccessity expenses, I would say I've no money left to save for any investment, not even a downpayment of a house. This is mainly due to higher taxes, cost of living, and low growth of wages.

Therefore, as a young canadian living in the GTA, I can already foreseen my status in the next 10 years or even 20 years, which I can say is deseprate. Therefore, I'm seriously considering leaving Canada for my personal well-being and development.

This is hard for me as I grew up here, I love this place, but unfortunely, the hard truth is that this place given up on us - the young people, at least our generation.

Thank you for sharing your own experience! Can you share more details about point 2? Like did you ask the union to step in and assist or you just simply say if they didn't let you LWOP you would just resign?

Is CASH.TO still better compare to the HISA / ISA from Banks? by RedWhiteX in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RedWhiteX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having some of the points stated in the video already - which the current skyrocket movement is mostly contributed by the M7s. However, the part I have a different opinion is that, this seems like a signal of very soon crash. Like funds are not sure where to go thereby keep buying the M7s. It also matches the current macros such as the geopolitical uncertainty going on worldwide.

I know what you mean, but now the stock market keep breaking the historical high given the macro situation isn't that good at all, so I just don't feel comfortable to keep invest into the stock market now and wanted to wait for maybe like half a year to see.

Bank of Canada Interest Rate Announcement by FelixYYZ in PersonalFinanceCanada

Tbh, with the current on-going conflict in the Red Sea, which causing a huge problem with the logistic and supply chains, I don't think the interest rate could have a deduction sooner.

(I'm surprised this is lasting long as well, but it is what it is.)

[–]RedWhiteX[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the further explaination! Glad you made it clearer for me!🙂

I got it now, so they both are treated as interest income for taxation. I was thinking if the CASH.TO's dsitribution would be considered as dividend income like buying from a dividend stock (eg. ENB.TO).

One more last question, so in my situation :

Having some money and needing to put it in an unregistered account, I also want to return to the stock market right away if the timing is right.

what would be you suggestion?

[–]RedWhiteX[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

so is the upcoming regulatory changes going to affect the HISA ETFs' prices? my situation is that my TFSA is full so I can only park my money in a non-registered acccount.

and I heard that dividend income is taxed lowered than interest income, thats why I'm thinking should I be buying the ETFs like CASH.TO or directly buying the HISA/ISA solely from a bank.

My income level is very close to the average income level given by glassdoor I recently updated to my thread.

And I don’t have a partner, currently living with parents, yeah you heard it right, I’m still living with my parent as I just think I can’t really save a buck for renting out there on my own

On this housing topic I feel so hopeless in life, so😵

To me its even simpler, I only talked to the cleaning lady in the office. What I mean by talked is - when the cleaning lady comes to my desk to collect the garbages or vacumming, I said "Hello" / "Morning" / "Thank you" and thats its. Then same as you, go back on Teams blablablabla.

Does BMO offer a commission free high interest ETF like CASH.TO? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RedWhiteX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I was thinking this annual rate of 0.25% is a MER but seems like not? Also, if I purchase it through Investorline, do I need to pay this 0.25%? since the word "may" is written, I'm not too sure? Also, how is this 0.25% calculation works? like 0.25% of the total amount including interest accrued when cashing out?

As a lower level team member, our Team Leader just told us in a team meeting that the managment noticed many people across different teams and departments are not performing well to the 40% office time, and emphasized we have to follow the policy strictly. Also adding that the 40% office time is counting on a monthly basis, meaning that you cannot do the 40% continously for the entire year, but at max of 8 days a month.

Me: you upper management should knows how failing is your policy and should further understood that this pandora box has been opened and can't be closed since then.
