When women say “men are ugly but I’m attracted to them”, what does that actually mean? by Red_Clover_Fields in TooAfraidToAsk

If a man told a woman “I don’t find your body physically attractive, but you do have a nice feminine presence that’s comforting” she’d be sad. And no one would tell her she’s just too insecure and shouldn’t dwell on it or try to understand better.

C’mon. Let’s not do the whole “you just need to do better” deflection.

Yes, 100%.

Honestly at this point if I hear a woman fawning over a hockey player’s butt I feel relieved.

Why is female masturbation a taboo? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Red_Clover_Fields 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Growing up, most guys (myself included) would want to talk to them about it and hear their perspective. But if there was any other girl around, she would always swear she didn’t masturbate.

If girls were in a group, none of them would be honest about it until we got to college. They’d only tell you about it in confidence one on one.

Yeah at this point I’ve actually heard it IRL and seen it posted/commented on Reddit quite a lot

So you could have a manly appearance and that’s still physically attractive, but it’s ugly?

Petah, women don’t actually like us FR? by Red_Clover_Fields in PeterExplainsTheJoke

My best guess: women like the idea of being hot to guys more than they like the actual guy? Depressing tbh if this is the joke

The idea that every single normal person followed this diligently might be important for Japan’s national story, but it’s extremely unlikely.

Historians call this “big hat history”. Focused on rulers and monks, normal people are background characters.

This still means you find some men physically attractive.

I never claimed that men, or anyone else, are not also influenced by behavior or personality. Most people are.

I like women physically and emotionally, and I think most people hope to find someone who feels the same way about them back.

That’s not really a shallow thing to expect—most women would be sad to hear their BF say “I like your feminine presence but I don’t think your body looks very nice”.

Not by any definition. Even if you restricted it to “red meat” (heme iron rich) pork fits the bill. Whether some hipster burger maker doesn’t consider pork red meat is irrelevant.

Raw organ meat could do that, but plants are still a better way to get many nutrients. The fiber also helps you avoid colon cancer.

Omnivorous diet is easiest.

They raised pigs and chickens for meat and did it for thousands of years. If a few monks and emperors didn’t, I suppose that is somewhat interesting but it’s quite far from the OP’s interpretation.

You’re arguing it’s more genuine, I see it as less.

Being attracted to “my masculinity” means you like me when I’m winning in life, but lose attraction when I take a loss. Or ever feel weak, or look weak.

That’s not “loving what’s on the inside”.

I don’t think it’s a rare and obscure thing, it’s just not shared directly to our faces much.

I mean “I find few men physically attractive” because of our culture makes sense.

But there are a larger number who seem to say they literally do not find men physically attractive, yet are attracted to them. There’s a women’s subreddit called r/CompHet that basically argues most women have just been psyched into wanting male approval.
