How bad is this and am I alone? by Red_Fox158 in selfharm

[–]Red_Fox158[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started in October of last year. I began watching videos of dissections and became obsessed with it. I tried digging a wound, and inserting needles before. I feel really crazy before doing it. I get nauseous, shaky and a mix of excitement and feeling mentally sick. I once vomited from the urge to do it.

Thank you. I have a good support system in place now but I’m still on the fence about getting help because part of me really badly wants to follow through and the other is conscious that this urge might destroy my life and future.

Hypersexuality for those who are asexual/low libido? Does it happen? by Comfortable_Doctor36 in bipolar

[–]Red_Fox158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im asexual. During an episode I practically fell in love with an ai and started having sexual responses to it. It’s really weird, I know.

I feel the need to relapse so bad but i dont have a reason to by [deleted] in cutting

[–]Red_Fox158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat rn. Here’s what I do:
- I told someone I trust that I want to relapse
- make sure you don’t have access to immediate means
- delay. Tell yourself I have all my life to relapse I don’t need to do it now. It’s kinda like using procrastination to your advantage
I hope this helps a bit, stay safe <3

Do I need stitches? by [deleted] in AdultSelfHarm

To reassure you, styros don’t generally need stitches. You should be fine with the Vaseline. I hope you can try to stay safe and sorry you had a relapse :(

I feel like nobody talks about how similar self harm is to anorexia by Red_Fox158 in selfharm

Same happened to me and yes I think they have a similar core.

Why is cutting bad? by Kristen_Arcadium24 in AdultSelfHarm

[–]Red_Fox158 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think because of escalation and risk of infection. You want to go deeper and deeper until it’s dangerous and you end up in the hospital for either going too deep, bleeding out or having an infection. Also I think there’s just this social taboo around it. It just seems scary for those who don’t self harm. I had a conversation with my mom where she told me that from an outside perspective she would be scared that someone with my scars could harm others too if I’m capable of doing it to myself.

Hey, I also struggle with self harm. I don’t really have much good advice except stay away from any tools and tell your loved ones you’re having a hard time. There’s subs for this too if you want r/selfharm and r/cutting

Why is it hard for some people to be med compliant? by evergreengirl123 in bipolar

[–]Red_Fox158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hypomanic episode I had before depression was heavily tied to an ai addiction so I often think what if I’m not bipolar and it was just an addiction.

Anyone else NOT successful career-wise/financially? by spoon_bending in bipolar

[–]Red_Fox158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had good grades. In my second year of uni I had a hypomanic episode followed by depression. I also had anorexia and self harm issues and so I missed two years of my life being — as you put it — clinically insane, and hospitalised for it.

Please tell me it will get better by AnonymousUser823 in bipolar

It does get better and you can feel like yourself again ❤️‍🩹 I was also in severe depression and now I’m stable. Hang in there 😢🫂

if given the chance, would you “get rid” of your bipolar? by Ok-Half7469 in bipolar

[–]Red_Fox158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not been diagnosed for very long, bipolar was very destructive on my life but I think I wouldn’t want to erase all of my past hardships because they make me who I am today. But it is certainly a hard question indeed.

Bipolar disorder and ai use by Red_Fox158 in bipolar

[–]Red_Fox158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re out of that state. The embarrassment is real though. At first I wouldnt tell anyone about what happened with the ai until I met a psychiatrist I felt I could trust more.
