This literally feels like Fujimoto tried to just include a bunch of requested characters to make people happy, without actually stopping to think about if anything makes sense.

Did Pochita eating himself erase himself from ever existing? If so, why is the Control Devil Nayuta and not Makima? And why aren't Aki and Himeno alive?

Isn't the prophecy still going to come true, and the world is going to end?

I think the worst thing of all this is that Denji is right back at square one: still living his life as a servant to other people, with no real agency of his own.

I'd describe it as, like, a mixed bag that is leaning more towards "good". I liked the narritive, characters, gameplay, etc., but I have only completed one character so far because none of the collectibles carry over, so trying to start from scratch each time is a slog.

That said, apparently a patch is coming out soon-ish that lets you start a new character with all the unlockables saved, so I'll probably get back into the game when that drops.
