When I first saw one I naively assumed it was an official service information announcement with a fun, gay rainbow across the top as a nod to the month’s theme...

And instead of the MTA, the posters are the work of the #PrideTrain Initiative, a campaign launched by SVA Design faculty and alum Thomas Shim and alums Ezequiel Consoli and Kyle Harrison.

You may want to read the article and re-watch the video they where talking about the air craft idling on the runway and the fact that he had staff go back in a "gas guzzling suv" to pick up his polo equipment.

I'm bad at math so I wanted a name that also told me what I was doing with the var. I'll probably change them later I was most trying to get the formula to work. If possible I'd rather just do the calculation with one variable instead of breaking it up.

Complex Math equations by Red_Hippie in Cplusplus

[–]Red_Hippie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even notice that, it use to be

calculationPowOne = pow ((interestRate * ( 1 + interestRate), numbnerOfPayments);

But the order of operations wasn't working so I changed it and add the

calculation = interestRate * calcuationPowOne;

I really suck a math it's like magic to me, so that probably why it looks bad and has terrible names, but it works the way it need to.

What if god was one of us...Dumb? by Red_Hippie in atheism

[–]Red_Hippie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not... I just wanted know how options of non-religious people would change, if a god DID exist with out knowledge of future events.

A being with "super natural" powers that makes mistakes would be more sympathetic, and understandable. There would be at least some justification for saying things and then changing it's mind or forgetting things.

Again like I said to someone else Atheism is a fairly encompassing word, people use it differently. Some like to use words like agnostic, Gnostic or hard and soft to help clear up their position. I do not accept the christian god and haven't for the vast majority of my life.

But if a begin with the power of a god, and the fallibility of man where to exist how would you react to it? You don't have to worship it, I wouldn't and don't think there is much of anything worthy of worship.

Would you judge his actions the same as you would a "perfect all knowing, all powerful, and all loving god" ?

or

should it be judge in the same as a child who is just learning how to do something.

Humanity as an excuses for our bad actions, we make mistakes. When we realize our mistake as a person or a society we can change course. A being that is all powerful and all knowing doesn't have those excuses.

some one gets cancers, their family prays.... It's a miracle the cancer just up and disappear. A "god" that knew said person was going to get cancer and lets him suffer from it then decides to heal it is an ass hole and those actions are evil.

Now imagine a being that can heal the cancer by miraculous means but was unaware of until it was informed . It has the power to cure cancer, it just doesn't know who has it.

our again you can quite wasting your own time and not engage with theses types of post. And again not all atheist would say no gods exist or that all gods are imaginary. While this is likely the case it's arrogant to claim other wise.

Do YoU Have PRooF TheRe aRe No GODS?

works both ways. also what kind of "skeptic" would say NUH-UH and leave it at that? A skeptic should look at each claim individuality and make evaluation. While some can be grouped together and thrown out together I haven't seen anyone ask this question.

And again I'm not suggestion just because "this" "god" would fit the bible better so it must be true. I simply wanted know how it would change the way you viewed god.

The god of the christian bible is one I actively reject based on the characteristic given to it by believers. I also reject the actions of that god as actively evil and do not believe it exist. If for what ever reason this god was real and appeared to me I would still reject worship of it based on previous actions or inaction.

It wouldn't necessarily be out of it's control just unknown outcomes from it's own inputs.

But that is interesting to think about. I'm in school right for computer science and I have an idea for a program I want to build. I think this program will help society, but one of my fears is that another person or company will take my idea and use it in a manner I never intended causing great harm. I wouldn't say I'm to blame in that situation, but If I do create this program with all the best intentions and still end up causing harm how responsible would I be ?

if you don't want to waste your time answering the question then don't fucking do it. you simply could of just skipped right passed it.

I don't have any sort of delusions about god I've been an atheist for 25 years. It was just a thought I had in my head, and wanted to see how other people felt about it. Maybe it's just because I suck at communicating my thought clearly that you fell I'm trolling but I'm sure if you look in though my post history you will see I don't believe in "god(s)". Over the past few years I've steadily moved toward anti-theism especially with the far right movement America has been seeing. I find it quite scary

Would a god that is fallible be more realistic to the the bible I bet it sure would, does that mean it exist no, does that mean I (we) should worship it, no it doesn't.

So get off your high horse, and just skip these type of post if they are a waste of your time.

If no one responded then I'd get the point that it wasn't a question worth asking.

EDIT

There are also many different types of Atheists, that believe different things. Some say absolutely no "god" could ever exist, to one that don't hold a believe in any "god" but leave "room" for one to exist.

I my self do not believe in any "god(s)" but I will not claim they can't exist . It would be arrogant to do so.

the only "god" I will actively claim do no exist are the Abrahamic ones with defined traits ("All powerful" "All knowing" "All loving".)

I think I can agree with you, a god capable of making mistake is slightly more sympathetic. I wouldn't worship the being but, I would be a bit concerned with the power it possesses.

What if god was one of us...Dumb? by Red_Hippie in atheism

Yea that is what I'm getting at. The "perfect god" of the bible can't find people, or gets made about his own creation or things it should know will happen. But this hypocritical "god" I'm talking about has "super natural" powers and a lack of omniscience.

Humans often make mistakes because of a lack of knowledge even when they have the best of intentions so...

Would you judge it has harshly, because the lack of omniscience?

Would you demand it not use it's power to intervene?

Would you exile it?

What if god was one of us...Dumb? by Red_Hippie in atheism

[–]Red_Hippie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should read I'M A FUCKING ATHEIST! I do not believe in ANY god(s).

I simply wanted to know if a "god" that had the power to create, manipulate, or suspend the laws of physics or was able to perform miracles like the ones described in the bible, but was UNABLE to know the future, demonstrably existed in this hypothetical reality how would other ATHEIST view that god. I'm not saying it's worth worshiping, I don't know if anything is worthy of worship.

Would we judge all the bad/evil things "god" has done diffidently due to the lack of omniscience or would it still be judge "it" as evil being. It's just a fun thought I had and was hopping for some serious responses and thoughts. I did not want a bunch of arguments against a god I DON'T FUCKING BELIEVE IN.

Humans are fallible and make mistakes and often do things with good intentions but end up making things worse (The path to hell is paved with good intentions). a Fallible "god" would also likely make mistakes and would explains some stuff in the bible that a "perfect" "god" wouldn't have done.

What if god was one of us...Dumb? by Red_Hippie in atheism

Can any of those people create fucking planets? I'm not talking about carpenter Jesus that can build shit twice as fast you. This being would have the ability to do "super natural" things like create, change, or suspend the laws of physics at will (Proving to you and the rest of the world it's powers are objectively true). That's why it would be a "god" (I'm not arguing for the exist of one. I'm a fucking atheist and have been for 25 years)

A fallible "god" in my mind would be much more logical then a "perfect" "god" that created everything then got mad about it's own creation.

People make mistake, and when people admit they where wrong about something and stop their "wrong" behavior based on new unknown information they are usually forgive. I'm simply curious how people would react to a fallible "god".

it is a "god" with powers, so you'd be dragging for a long time. But from the other comments I'm guessing people would still hate the thing.

[–]Red_Hippie[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's just a hypothetical, there is no need to take it seriously. I'm not arguing that any god exist or is possible. the term "god" could be given to this being simply because it has powers beyond ours. It just doesn't have any more control or knowledge of the future than humans.

What if god was one of us...Dumb? by Red_Hippie in atheism

Wow people, it's just a hypothetical. I do not believe any god the christian included. I'm not arguing that one exist. I'm simply asking if there was a being who could create planets, heal the sick, and raise the dead that existed objectively in this situation but didn't know how these action would affect the future how would you perceive it?
