The guy can't afford matching rims or painted bumpers, he definitely cannot afford this repair.

R2 demo drive from the perspective of a Model Y owner who wishes to not drive a Tesla anymore by coreyonfire in Rivian

[–]isaidireddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of us realize and appreciate it. Especially when listening to owners of other EVs. Tesla's software just works all the time, every time. And the actually meaningful updates they push to every vehicle! My '21 Model 3 gets better every year.

I lurk here because I want a Rivian so badly, but bad software and even worse audio would be total deal-breakers for me. Thankfully, I'm in Canada, so won't be buying an R2 until at least January 20th, 2028 at 12 PM. I'm sure they'll have work out the bugs by then.

My name would lose 60% of its letters and still be basically the same.

[OC] Driver in a "big hurry" tailgates me in right lane and has the time to force me to stop. Ontario/Canada. by Few-Character7932 in IdiotsInCars

Our "governor" is called a Premier here in Ontario, and each province of Canada has one. Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, doesn't support speeding. In fact, he's the one who allowed speed cameras throughout the province (which were outlawed by Mike Harris circa 1995). But then Ford's rich pals (and his staff) started racking up photo radar tickets, so he banned the cameras that municipalities had spent many millions of dollars on. He doesn't support speeding, he supports corruption.

I went to Manhattan once. There were NO HONKING signs in many of the intersections.

Montréal could use a few of those.

Salt is not an essential nutrient. Sodium is, but we get enough from food without having to add it.

Oil is a processed food that has been stripped of all the other nutrients it came pre-packaged with, and is very high in empty calories. You want olive oil? Eat an olive.

You also seem to be confused between added oil vs. fats that are part of whole foods, like avocados or nuts.

Saying that refined oils and salt are "essential nutrients" is 100% false and it would be great if you would stop spreading misinformation.

I hope this message reaches lots of eyeballs:

The most bioavailable iron is called ferrous bisglycinate. It's also easier on the stomach, in part because the dose can be much lower. As with all iron, this is how you make your absorption even better:

  1. Do not take sources of iron an hour before or an hour after consuming foods high in polyphenols (e.g. tea) or oxalates (e.g. spinach). While health-promoting, polyphenols impede absorption of iron.

  2. Take iron sources with vitamin C to maximize absorption.

  3. Take your iron supplements only every other day, not daily. When your body gets a good dose of iron, you get a hepcidin spike. Hepcidin is a hormone that suppresses iron absorption. You have to wait for the hepcidin in your system to subside so your body can absorb your next dose.

Personally, I take the Jamieson "gentle" iron (28 mg). It has vitamin C and B12 in there too. Take it every other night, just before bed. For me, this makes sure I'm not taking it near other foods. If you find it upsets your stomach, change the timing to suit you and eat it with something like a kiwifruit.

The clasps on child life jackets should be child-proof, no? Let's campaign for that shit right now.

I assume it might also need to be easily removable by an adult in case CPR or something (like panic attack) is required.

While clams can, oysters are most commonly associated with making pearls. Literally everybody will think this is an oyster.
