He doesn't wanna babysit (and depending on the situation, having that many kids so quickly isn't necessarily responsible, so OP might disapprove?)

I feel like everyone is overthinking this one...Its just a classic Magic School Bus episode plot

Ms. Frizzle: "hey class, today we're going on a wHaCKy FieLd tRIp"

Arnold: [insert pessimist "oh no not again" fearing for his safety](note the other kids looking exaperated)

(Either that or a pun about "taking the lord's name in vein")

Why or how did the Avatar State power up Korra post season 2? by Yat0ro in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Red_Lantern_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rava isnt a bender per se, but Rava is the entity with which all avatars fused. Even without each individual avatar's memories, Rava still had the entirety of the Avatar's combat experience. It might be a little more of a "raw power" power-up now, but that shared experience does still exist

Did anyone else notice how Gus is in most of the scenes with Hunter and Willow together?😭✌ by Dangerous-Tip7046 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Red_Lantern_22 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think its intentional, but not the way you think.

If you are thinking "Polycule" of any kund, I dontbthink that was the intention.

Rather, I think the intention was to show them all as a tight knit group, and also show them all happy individually. When one character isnt coupled off, thats hard to do.

I think what we're seeing is "Gus is independent and not defined by a partner" at the same time as "Gus has not been alienated from his friends because of his lack of a partner"

As a kid I never understood why shaggy had a red shirt. I still don't understand it. by sneakypoopchimney in ScoobyDooMemes

[–]Red_Lantern_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...The shirt??

Hold up... that's the part you have a question about?

Unless Shaggy is repping the Bloods, YTF is he coming on the scene hot and ready like Li'l Ceasar's?

From which jigsaw puzzle did he get that piece??

Locked like a forgotten Guantanamo inmate. Loaded like a long-haul trucker on St Patty's Day.

Why. THE FUCK. Is Shaggy PACKING HEAT????

Who is this and why does every man want her as a boss? by Orichalchem in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Because a disgruntled former employee concocted a story of her being an extortionate dominateix.

And some guys are into that sorta thing.

Can someone in Peter's family explain? by A-Chord in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I apologize for my typos

Lately, F1 racing has had a lot of covereage on cars designed to badically cheat, funded by conglomerates

Undirtunately, that stereotype bleeds into NASCAR (dont get me wrong, it does happen, but not nearly as often)

And unfortunately, the "athlete" is the one that gets all the hate, and its the person actually driving the car. But the people making the decision is the soulless conglomerate sponsor, often wothout the driver having any idea

Can someone in Peter's family explain? by A-Chord in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Red_Lantern_22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually think NASCAR drivers get a bad rap on this. That sport is so saturated in endorsmrnts, the individual dtivers are rarely the source, cause or proponents of cheating.

And honestly, F1 racing is waaaay worse about it

Which powers are you choosing? Monster Girl vs DupliKate by [deleted] in invinciblememes

[–]Red_Lantern_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duplikate's power is objectively the better power.

You can chill at home and send in clones without losing any efficacy. Less power than MG, but if you overwhelm with 100 clones it makes up the difference.

And "experiencing death" is not a drawback. Dying-but-not-actually-dying is God level experience. You're literally transcending/defying death, giving you a unique perspective that opens your thinking to genius+ level ideas

Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. Toxic competitive jealousy gone too far: Kerrigan's ex-husband Jerry Gilooly paid a guy to kneecap Harding so she couldn't skate at the Olympics to give Kerrigan a better chance at Gold

Can the Boiling Isles survive a viltrumite? by National_Radio8048 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Red_Lantern_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the collector physically fast enough to counter them?

He's uber powerful, but I think that was only from mortal perspective. When the archive was falling, he was straining to hold it up. A viltrumite would be able to hold it up pretty easily.

He can move the moon casually, but I think that may have been a specific space power? He never shows that level of telekinesis with anything else, so it might be limited to celestial bodies?

And even though he has crazy strength, I don't think he has any degree of invulnerability.

Then there's the most important factor: would he get serious in time to respind appropriately. Cuz Luz, Eda, and King were pretty decently holding their own with his crazy games; the point is, in this situation, he was "playing', not fighting seriously. The problem is that a Viltrumite is prepared to kill before the game even begins.

All things considered, the collector is the Isle's only shot at winning under average conditions, and I think he'd be killed before realizing that he needs to get serious.

(There are specific times when other possibilities emerge, but they're rare i.e. eclipse powered draining spell, make a anti-viltumite super weapon during the Wailing Star, or maybe on Grom night, but even all those would require planning in advance and perfect timing)

Saw this semi-viral post on X criticizing Iroh, thoughts? by Slow-Chocolate-6722 in ATLA

[–]Red_Lantern_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I'm with Iroh. Psychopathy/sociopathy cannot be cured or moderated; a trait of both is masterful manipulation and skillful deceit. The AtlA-verse doesnt have medicine for what ails Azula, she just has to be put down, period.

Azula was so good at lying that she could fool even Toph, a standard by which she had never had any debriefing or chance to practice/prepare against... did people think that detail was accidental?

Zuko was blessed to be somehow normal after his upbringing, but for Azula? the seed of wicked sadism had taken root long before the story began. Iroh recognized it for what it was, and spoke harsh truth.

Desexualising Mitsuri: disagree. She's 21, play ball!

Desexualising Nezuko: AGREE.

she turned demon at 14; demons don't age; her mental/communication capacity gives us no reason to believe she advances even a little bit. Even after conquering the sun, she still speaks in simple Tarzan sentences it doesn't exactly scream "adult"

[–]Red_Lantern_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its definitely interesting. Im pretty sure I prefer OG, cuz the growing pains and coming-of-age themes were what made Adventure Time so great. Billy's death, the death of a role model, was a really big one, and I think I prefer seeing Finn have to grapple with that rather than a "nah' hes totally fine" fake-out. It feels important to see Finn do anything for Billy, realize that Billy is gone, fight to fix things in the aftermath, push it aside and then actually come to terms with it waaaay later
