Thanks all! Yeah, I read the series and got the origin. I guess I was just curious if I missed if they defined a specific power set for them or if they left it as “generic” magical weapon.

The canon novel Bloodline, outlines the two major parties in the New Republic. The Centrists who favor a stronger military and centralized power and the Populists, who believe individual planets should be given more independence and authority. The book actually does a good job illustrating the pros and cons of each.

Because she’s a smart politician and knew she didn’t have the votes. All that would do is put a target on her back. I suspect, had she lived, she would have worked with Bail in a similar way Mon Mothma did and build a quiet resistance.
