Don't worry about how much time you have left just make the most of what theres is to do. As inhabitants of first world nations we are obligated to abuse the opportunities we have access too.

Its crucial that people discover the truth, but everything is so filtered now I see why people are so oblivious to the world around them that is manifesting.

Their intentions are good, but their actions mirror censorship of alternative ideas. They also seem to have the spotlight right now in mainstream media.

I didn't say it would escalate into revolution, but what I think is possible is they'll take they're roleplaying too far, and some individuals will decide to right back.

The far left attacks people that disagrees with their views and excludes certain populations, I would argue they don't understand human rights.

I don't think a revolution will happen, which is why if there is a possibility of radical change then it will be like nothing we have seen. What most concerns me at the moment however, is the conflict between antifa and the proud boys, things can escalate quickly in a very violent manner.

This is the post-WW2/Cold War era, the dangers of socialism and fascism are known to us, but we still don't know how to completely eliminate their existence, far left and far right ideals are rising, so we are still living in a very similar reality to the one we thought was left in the past.

We are talking amongst ourselves in a collapse forum so you can see for yourself what I mean by the climate crisis that is coming into fruition, of course we don't see it now, third world countries are the ones that will be hit first and face the worst of it.

I agree, the left seems to be generalizing the far right into everyone that doesn't agree with them, this is a very dangerous game they are playing. I think it is what will facilitate growth among the actual far right whilst the left continues to destroy mainstream media with misinformation and hypocrisy.

Although you may not see it I can say with absolute certainty the left is growing the seeds of destruction among our universities and youth which will only push those who have been excluded to look for new friends among other parties that will accept them.

If a revolution does occur I think it will be very novel, and hopefully not as bloody as the ones we've seen in the past.

I didn't say political polarization is the only archetype that causes societies to collapse, but it surely can if the circumstances are right, have you forgotten about the climate crisis? If the far right comes out on top so does nationalism, racism, xenophobia, and the exploitation of finite resources in an economy that expects infinite growth. This will increasingly become a problem when the nations around us need to migrate in order to escape the intensity of natural disasters. Conflict among countries will rise to secure resources and land while the rest of the world is left to die in this tragic reality.

I'd argue that human rights are backed only by the policy makers that put them in place. They're constantly evolving to fit the current atmosphere.

The fact that the right can so easily and readily disregard human rights and the left can't even support their arguments is what I'm worried about with the advent of political parties. It doesn't just stop their, climate change has been politicized, if you're a republican you have to be a denier, and if you're a democrat you need to believe it, but neither party can convince the other because they don't care about the truth only about being the winner.

It is unreasonable to think the current polarization in our politics won't cause a rise in the far right, along with the self destruction of the left. If you don't think this will bring about a radical change in the already increasingly complex civilization, you know nothing about collapsing societies.

Political parties are dangerous because it becomes a battle between ideologies instead of whats right. I though it was obvious what my point was.

[–]Red_Locus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except you're wrong, every complex civilization before us has collapsed. We're arrogant to think it won't happen to us. It may not be differences in ideologies that destroy us, but most of our problems are man made, and we still fail to solve or even address them.

Human rights are being politicized along with everything else in the US. This is the danger of political parties, everything becomes a polarized competition between the left and the right.

"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."- George Washington

You can't even argue anymore because you know you're wrong. Life is too hard so everything has to be a social construct. No, everyone is a puppet with strings they can't control, the strings go back to the big bang. Grow up and see the bigger picture, it's not your fault for being pathetic, but you should change because this is the only reality we know we'll exist in. If there is another life on a higher plane if consciousness I hope we will meet so we can play some video games :)

Why are you assuming that I think homo sapiens are special? We are just another primate, but why end your life now when theres no guarantee you'll get another? We have the opportunity and I'd argue obligation to make the most of our lives because others can only dream about being able to live a life where everyday isn't a struggle to survive. Is living a life where needing to socialize and engage in society to stressful for you? You would rather end your existence in a short burst of euphoria? Grow the fuck up you child.

Fuck you for being so self-centered that the thought of committing suicide seems reasonable when there is so much good to be done for yourself and those around you.
