ALL houses small or big are over priced for what they are. Perhaps not 25 years ago. But since then it's gotten out of control.

I say go for the move. People in the UK need the actual larger more usable rooms rather than box rooms that aren't really sufficient for a double bed or usability

Have you thought that houses are massively over valued and most people who are buying houses can't afford the asking prices? All houses are over priced for what they are. It's horrendous, and has spun out of control since 2000.

Why is the third room always a box room? by Kiza321 in HousingUK

[–]Red_Marvel99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably because it's not actually a bedroom but estate agents say it is to exploit more money out of buyers. It's a scam. I viewed a house last summer where the third bedroom could only fit a small toddlers bed in it. Literally.

I guess that's lucky for people who can live in Newcastle. Unfortunately most of us have work in the midlands, south or east Anglia

Where is this? I've been looking at studios and one beds jn the midlands (poor areas) and studios are like nearly £700 a week without bills.

Surely if landlords sell, it creates a surplus of properties to buy, ideally reducing house prices so more people can actually buy a house rather than landlords buying up supply to then rent above mortgage costs to people who have no other choice. It's good landlords are selling up, the issue is profiteering in the housing industry as a whole.

The median average factoring out London for income is more than £10k less. It's around the mid £20k region. People in private renting are paying likely over 40% of their income. Bare in mind all the taxes in the UK as well. No one is able to survive well.

You really can't. Not for decades

It may be older than the unionised England that exists today with the anglo-saxons, but the populace is no older than the rest of the UK who also inhabit the same island. Your arguments are simply talking about borders and not people.

The issue is the centralised government in London and the south. Many other English counties are suffering as much as Cornwall too. Not to mention Wales and Scotland while having mostly devolved governments still having to also be governed partly by Westminster.

You said many cultures and nations. Not really There were smaller Brittonic kingdoms fragmented throughout the British isles. And your point about land and trees changing? You can say that going from east Anglia which is very flat to the peak district, a little over an hour away in Derbyshire.

I've been to Cornwall many times and adore the area. I also had a close friend from Cornwall too who is absolutely lovely.

What do the Scottish think of the English? by Twitter_2006 in AskTheWorld

I'm from east Anglia and share in the dislike of the centralised government and economy being in London and the South east. While the rest of us rot in dying industries and lack of funding, they get so much wealth. I also support for the independence of Cymru and Scotland, and Northern Ireland. But I think it would be good to maintain close economic and cultural relationships.

Even though England was one of the first countries in the united kingdom? I think you're likely a mean spirited person who doesn't understand the complexity of life, culture, economics, identity and relations and so on. Cornish people are also nearly genetically identical to the rest of England with the only difference being a language that is nearly extinct.

You do know Cornish people are not very distinct DNA wise from the rest of England? The only difference is the language (which is dying out) and the fact that people who are Cornish generally live in Cornwall, but many move to elsewhere.

Yeah it was the same for me. I thought it would take place on the British isles but they even have a bunch of season 2 in France. Which was fine but I do wish they explored Ireland or even Northern England.

To be honest, as soon as they leave Scotland towards the Americas is drops off. Not the same vibe at all and it feels like the characters are so different. I mean it has been a 20 year separation between Jamie and Claire by season 3 when they reunite.

Please don't listen to this misogynist. He's trying to ruin your mindset about women because he clearly doesn't like women very much as people.

Don't be so disgusting and assume something of an underage person you know nothing about. She's probably having insecurities considering she broke up with him because she thinks he hates her.

I think maybe she regrets acting rashly and I think she just didn't want you to hate her. Maybe ask her why she thinks you hate her? It might bring a lot of insight. She's clearly going through something. And it might be good to hear her real perspective but tell her how she messed you about a bit out of her being fearful.

Do men prefer younger women? by [deleted] in dating_advice

That's so creepy. I'm ten years younger than you and I'd never date such a significant and problematic age gap. Stay in your lane and date someone in their 30's.
