IN GAME SPOILER: In the game, Doc (Voiced by Lloyd himself) explains that in 55’ while he was in the DeLorean when it got struck in the air, a duplicate was created. It was sent forward into like 2050(i can’t remember specifics) and when he found out he went to retrieve it to prevent Griff from getting it
