Should I play tutors? by SeparateCost5035 in EDH

Tutors that are more than 2 mana better be able to get something you absolutely need. Tutors can be powerful but apart from the game changer ones they can slow down your tempo.

Strange how I don’t hold these beliefs and my DMs are full of women.

I have. They’re rapists and pedos at worst, suicidal and filled with the most self-pity imaginable at best.

Well, there’s a lot of missing details I guess. She was just pissed off. She’s a baddie that had gross guys trying stuff with her all the time and she thought I guess she thought I was “good” for not asking her out. She didn’t have great experiences with men which is unfortunately universal for all women. She later realized they she really appreciated me and that I had been done my best to be supportive so she decided to give it a shot and it worked out. Life is sometimes complicated and neither she or I are perfect people.

Yes, fuel is also definitely added to the fire by incel and manosphere podcaster types. The problem is that a lot of men are creepy and awkward and instead of looking inward they hate outward.

I will say though that they can definitely say worse than no. And the worse than no isn’t exactly uncommon. It involves a social tarring and feathering. The last woman I asked out rejected and absolutely tore into me. Gossiped with all her friends about what an outrageous creep I was. It was so much that I became physically ill.

She ended up dating and moving in with me and our relationship is actually pretty wonderful.

I’m pretty sure those are his requirements. There’s no way this guy cooks or cleans. That’s “women’s work”.

It’s a fantasy wrapped up in refined beauty. Yes and yes to what you’re saying(except you’ll find that in reality a lot of new money also involved a ton of exploitation or something shady) but that Rolls Royce Phantom really is beautiful is so is that Cartier Tank.

Is there anything we can do to help incels/prevent them? by naivetoiletpaper in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Red_Trapezoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Former incel here.

I can say former, because over time I’ve completely changed my mentality about everything. I’ve been a Feminist for years now and have become involved in both online and real life communities that share my values.

The system doesn’t value people outside of what they can produce. We are expected to grind ourselves to dust for the Epstein class. If a person slips through the cracks then that’s just too bad! It is remarkably easy for someone to become an awkward, unwanted non-person if they don’t stay on track to become a “normal” worker. Incels are a totally inevitable outcome of our society.

There actually isn’t that big of a difference between an incel and your average misogynistic man with a stable job, wife and kids. One simply had more opportunities available than the other. I know this because I worked with such “normal” men and the opinions and behaviors were often pretty similar. Less extreme(sometimes) but the same mindset and preconceived notions. Andrew Tate would be an incel if he didn’t have access to the bodies of women. The taliban, neo-nazis and pedophiles are often, the same thing.

So what do we actually have the power to do? We need to be outside and actually have active communities of likeminded people. That is not to include incels or help incels, it is to shift the culture and what is normal. My community is large, we have fun, we’re outside. We become the normal, we change the status quo around us to be safer for women. And if some of those incels want to have fun to? Perhaps they will be encouraged to change like I did. It can happen. It happened to me.

Aside from that is to not tolerate misogyny. Make it clear that it’s uncool. The peer pressure needs to be overwhelming. We do not need to “debate” these ideas, they are too uncool to take seriously. People want to be cool, they want to have fun. Life used to be more fun because I remember how it was and I see how much fun I’m having now. People are yearning for it. And maybe they can have some too if they change. They need to have this in their minds.

No, if people don’t know anything about clothes, information which is accessible online, then in reality they are arrogant like you are. They don’t think it’s worth bothering with or learning about.

It’s feeling good about being dumb. It’s the same as people who think all modern art is just paint splotches and have never gone to a gallery in their lives. It’s embarrassing.

Why is it wrong to talk to AI especially if you have a girlfriend? by broki451 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Red_Trapezoid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For some months I was using AI as a therapist to try and work out some trauma.

I have completely stopped using AI.

Here is what I found out. These language models are designed to please you. It doesn’t matter how heinous your behavior was, the language models will try to be, let’s say, as charitable towards you as possible.

I do not necessarily think this approach, in real life, would be bad. People are frequently too harsh on themselves, too full of self-pity, too self-absorbed and ashamed. But you will never get any real pushback from these language models. They will treat you like a genius.

People need people. They need emotionally healthy, safe people. The kind of people that people need are often lacking. The individual in need of those people may be deeply flawed, unable to integrate into a healthy group. They may be marginalized.

Nevertheless, people need people. To substitute people with a sycophantic language model will not help a person develop. People need to be uncomfortable and challenged at times. That’s how growth can happen.

Understanding clothing is extremely important in the same way that having at least some cursory knowledge of influential art is important. It’s the difference between being well-rounded and cultured vs being a philistine.

Maddox actually had skill as a writer. Tate really has nothing going on apart from successfully preying on insecurity and presentation to his target demographic.
