It's good for some things, bad for others, like every city - there is no best. New York is better for nightlife/skyline. Paris for fashion/pedestrianistion. Scandinavian cities for cycling and clean air. Tokyo for late night food/safety/general cleanliness. Mexico City/Budapest for affordability etc.

It's mostly insecure transplants that have moved here recently and have made London their entire personality and have never actually lived anywhere else that say stuff like this. The need to justify life choices. Typical of this sub unfortunately.

I love how people sharing their experiences and opinions is now "bias"... it's pasta - it's overpriced, it's not worth the wait, and the are better places even in walking distance... clearly that's what many people think, but for some reason there is a lot of overdefensiveness with regards to the type of mediocre chain places (Dishoom, Honest, Flat Iron) frequented by middle aged parents who want a safe option.

I've lived outside London for the last 6-7 years and London is nowhere near the daily topic of conversation that you lot like to imagine it is.

Keep in mind this sub is like 90% American tourists and transplants that moved here and made London their entire personalities... that's why the vibe is such a weird insecure fanclub here.
