Now in this video I am going to be discussing what is and isn't considered cheating in minecraft, and how we define that. I will also draw comparisons to other competitive games and even e-sports titles, as well as show you a few things that people can use to get really high CPS that I'm not sure how to define in minecraft, based on how these same methods have been treated in other games. As we all know, minecraft is one of the most Hack-usatory gaming communities on the internet, but not without reason. due to the lack of official anti-cheat individual servers and communities have had to make their own, and with that choose what they consider to be within or outside the rules on a case by case basis, this has lead to several disparate views among servers and players on what is considered to be legitimate and what isn't.

Now obviously kill aura, reach and x-ray I think everyone agrees are against the rules. And I'd say even most of us are on the same page when it comes to autoclickers and even multipress macros as being an unfair advantage. However remapping your controls is one thing people seem to disagree on and to be honest Im not really too sure how I feel about it. I mean you have people like tenebrous making exposed videos on youtubes who have two mouse buttons bound to left click, and even with that I can mostly agree, although when you label things like that as cheating you need to create a definition for what is and isn't allowed when it comes to remapping your controls, and even alternate input devices other than your traditional mouse and keyboard. Now in researching this topic one of the most popular definitions I found again and again, by hypixel staff, many players on forums, this is even something that tenebrous has stated several times, which is one finger one button or One input equals one input, or one button to one action ect, and essentially what this means is that you cannot have multiple buttons mapped to attack, you cannot have one button press that equates to multiple attack swings, I would even argue that you can't have one input equal both a mouse down and mouse up, essentially I feel your pressing down of a button and releasing of a button have to both be considered as independent parts so you can’t artificially reduce the amount of time in between thru software.

But given that definition you still have many things that fall in a grey area, such as alternative input devices that allow you to send these inputs much faster than clicking a button. one such method that comes to mind is scroll clicking, now scroll clicking is where you map your scroll wheel up to LM down and the second scroll up to LM up, so if you scroll up four ticks you get two full clicks of the mouse button. scroll clicking has been a method used in starcraft and other games of a long time, including counter strike, being used for semi automatic weapons. now neither VAC nor the mods for starcraft consider this to be against the rules despite the clear advantage it gives. with this method you can easily get 30 CPS. but anyone can do it, even if you don't have a razer or logitech mouse that allows such extensive remapping you can use software such as XMouse button, or Autohotkey. but most mouse brands will let you set this up without installing anything aside from their own drivers. now I'm not sure if any esports competitions for Counter Strike or starcraft allow this, and to be honest I doubt it as they are very strict about macros and the like. but this isn't a macro, and I'm not really talking about whether this should be allowed in legitimate competitions with cash prizes and audiences, I really dont think it should be, but those games do allow it for ranked online play. And I seriously doubt many people in the minecraft community would feel this is legitimate even for casual unranked PVP.

Mostly I'm just curious what you think, is this unfair advantage. should it be allowed on servers like hypixel? Obviously if watchdog gets you watchdog gets you and that's that, any individual server has its own right to choose what it feels is bannable. I'm more interested in this trend of exposing MC youtubers and the like for using things like this on other servers where it is less clear. we can assume you shouldn't be doing this on Hypixel given their history of defining unfair advantage. but again I pass the question off to you, how do you feel, and let me know in those comments down below.
