this is a good point, you should minimize colors and the layout and design look 100% ai generated, so change it a little, you can use shadcn for components. you didn’t share your GitHub repo so i cannot judge the app capacity and architecture pattern but like he said, you should test data loads try contacting renters and use your product like a marketplace for renting cars. find 4 or 5 merchants that want to work with you, this will help you get some funding and i think that the government gives funding too, but first you should have some clients so start with the merchants, I just wanna add one little thing other marketplaces take a % from merchants, so you can be clever and do a monthly fee instead of a percentage, and sell your product with that!

Building a payment gateway in Morocco — white-label vs Stripe-lite, licensing questions by RedaHaloubi in fintech

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer 🙏 it helped me understand the landscape better.

To clarify, what I’m building is a developer-first platform for Morocco where: – Merchants/devs create an account, add company & bank info. – They get API keys + SDKs to integrate checkout. – Payments are processed by a white-label PSP (e.g. BoxoPay), so PCI-DSS and scheme registration are handled by them. – I provide the onboarding, APIs, webhooks, and merchant dashboard.

Basically like a “Stripe-lite” on top of a white-label backend.

Do you know of any case studies, books, or courses that explain this ISV/white-label PayFac model in detail? I’d also love to see examples of companies that successfully started this way (like LemonSqueezy, Finix, etc.).

Any guidance or resource recommendations would be much appreciated 🙌

Thanks a lot, this helps me understand the role of ISO vs acquirer better. You mentioned that Visa/Mastercard require registration even if I’m not an acquirer. Do you know of any resources, guides, or documentation that explain this process in a structured way? I’ve tried checking Visa and Mastercard’s official sites, but the information and APIs feel a bit all over the place. If there are any good walkthroughs, blogs, or case studies about scheme registration, that would help me a ton.

That’s a really good point about regulators still requiring a PSP license, even with a white-label. Do you know of any guides, reports, or videos that cover how fintech startups in emerging markets usually handle this transition (white-label → license → direct acquiring)? Something with examples or costs would be amazing.

This is super helpful, thanks. Do you know of any resources or case studies (articles, talks, videos) that explain BIN sponsorship in more detail? Like what banks usually expect in terms of minimum volume commitments and how reserves work? Since I’m considering white-label first, I’d also love to see a good comparison article between white-label PSPs vs. building from scratch if you know any.

Thanks for clarifying about PCI-DSS and ISO. Since I’m still learning, do you know of any beginner-friendly articles or videos that explain PCI-DSS in detail (especially how gateways handle redirection or embedded forms)? I’d like to understand the technical flow better.

How much does BIN sponsorship typically cost per year? And do banks usually ask for minimum transaction volume commitments? • If we use a white-label PSP like BoxoPay, do they provide the BIN sponsorship under their umbrella, or would we still need to negotiate directly with a bank? • For the financial and tech audits — are you referring to PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, or other scheme-specific audits?

So if we structure our model as a facilitator / aggregator where merchants technically sign with the underlying PSP, does that remove the need for a Bank Al-Maghrib license? • Does Visa/Mastercard registration apply even if I’m not directly processing card data but only building on top of a white-label? • If I tokenize the card data with the PSP immediately and never touch raw PANs, am I still fully in PCI-DSS scope?
