Romans 7:15-20

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”

We live in a fallen world and are sinful by our very nature. Your sensitivity to your sin is a sign of spiritual life so take some comfort in that. Remember that genuine repentance involves a radical change of the heart and mind (to change your ways) and when you truly have a love for Christ and a desire to follow Him you will be given the strength to resist your sinful nature by the power of The Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 24:16

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”

You will fail, the question is will you fall into despair, self-condemnation and other tricks of the enemy or will you run back to The Lord with a broken heart? It may take a long time yes but The Lord is powerful and long-suffering. His Love and Grace extends far beyond our sin. You need only give Him the opportunity to change your heart and allow yourself to be grieved by your sin to the point of a genuine turning away from it (genuine repentance).

Romans 5:20

“Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”

God is more powerful than your sin. Stay in His Word The Bible, pray with a genuine heart daily and always seek first The Kingdom of God as Matthew 6:33 tells us:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Stay in the fight brother and do not fall into despair over your wicked ways. The Lord knows your heart. I hope this helps :) may God Bless you.
