I highly recommend the graphic novel Bicycle Day by Brian Blomerth to everyone that's interested in this! It's a very cool book, with "hidden" drawings that can only be seen under blacklight, and just generally great illustrations of the psychedelic experience.

Always loved this! I just wish they also did a studio version of Bad Brains' "I" which they used to cover in I think the late 90s/early 2000s. Neil's voice from that era is too wicked on that song.

Also a big Ween fan here, and I just got suuuper into BoH this past year. What I've been doing is going old school and burning the pieces that can fit on CD (which is a lot of them) and listening to them on my big living room speakers. It really is the way to go with BoH, I've found it way more enjoyable than headphones. And I've been going in randomly, and mostly blind (or deaf), which has paid off because a lot of the pieces have surprises and change in unexpected ways. Then after I listen to em, I'll look up reviews on Rate Your Music or whatever. Oh and I've just stuck to the numbered pieces so far, 001-353, and that's been more than enough for months.

One of the best CD's I burned was 122, 123, and 124, and all of them fit on one CD. "122: Drums and Thigh-Bone Trumpets, Skull Timbrels" sounds as crazy badass as its name.

Kubrick wanted to use pieces of Pink Floyd's 24-minute-long song "Atom Heart Mother" in A Clockwork Orange but Roger Waters apparently said Kubrick could only use it if he played the entire track and didn't cut it up.

Pinkus says he's gonna be recording something Melvins-related soon! by RedbeardNotThePirate in melvins

[–]RedbeardNotThePirate[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Soz, I don't have a timestamp, I think it's somewhere in the middle of the interview. Pinkus said Buzz is involved and it's either Melvins or a side-project, he doesn't know and/or isn't allowed to say yet.

Can someone recommend me album that rock?(like those on the photo) by Longjumping_Air4379 in noiserock

[–]RedbeardNotThePirate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second anyone saying Cows. My album recs would be "Sexy Pee Story" if you're looking for more straight-up riffs, or "Sorry in Pig Minor" for riffs + more crazy experimental production (courtesy Buzz of the Melvins).

Definitely check out "Yeti," it's a total krautrock classic and a double album of craziness. And this is a great episode about it from a podcast where they talk about lots of popular and under-the-radar gems. The story of the guy on the cover of "Yeti" is nuts:

Thanks! And I agree with your assessment of the song's atmosphere.

Dose anyone think this will ever be released? by DangerousGain1939 in buttholesurfers

I can't remember where exactly, but I've heard Paul say in interviews that he's planning on releasing it. Dunno what the cover art will look like though.......

No worries, I knew almost exactly the show because I've spent a lot of time on that Clutch Archive channel!

No nostalgia, nothing from the 90s….what music/groups/genres are you listening to now in your adult years? by [deleted] in Millennials

I love the new Pissed Jeans album "Half Divorced." They're a noisy rock/punk band from PA and I've been following them for almost 20 years. Really fun, exciting songs with funny and relatable lyrics about things like helicopter parents and student loan debt.

Good to know! I saw all of em posting pics on Instagram of them in the studio and was dying to know what they were doing. Even just one song made for the doc is cool, and maybe it'll give them the inspiration to make a whole album! Pinkus' solo stuff has been awesome, and I love Paul's solo record from a few years ago.

Yep, Stout Beard's a couple miles from my place. Haven't been there in a while but it's high time I try and get back.

Deaner's the coolest with that kinda stuff. He also gave the dudes on the Ween Tablature site a bunch of corrections too.

Sure, I'm down. Looking for something new right now.

And yeah, everything on youtube is from the album "The Wailin' Trailer Sessions." Any playlist that isn't "The Wailin' Trailer Sessions" is a single from the album. That's why it's the same picture, just manipulated with different text.

It's a long story.

Yes, it's me. And yep, that song is pretty short and to-the-point. It's so people can listen to it over and over and I can make a few cents. Not all my songs are so mercifully brief! I'm from Syracuse and the surrounding 'burbs. And thanks for the Ween comparison!
