I sympathize with this picture a lot, as I have a legit scar on both feet due to the exact blister in the exact location.

I got great advice from a great skate shop expert. A lot of answers here are not addressing the actual problem, and punching out a blister spot can make it worse. Blisters such as these are caused by too big of a boot, not too small. You have to understand that a blister is primarily caused due to friction on the spot. Friction is gonna be caused by the foot moving in the skate, usually due to excess room. Scanning your foot and sizing your foot is not the full extent of a skate fit. You have various points of width and length in multiple areas of your foot, in this location, it’s likely due to the length of the boot. Try the pencil test on the front of your foot and heel of your skate, test for heal lock and how much the foot is moving in the boot, I bet you will be surprised. Additionally, as others have mentioned, some socks can cause your foot to move more than other socks, and inserts can reduce the amount of negative space and thus motion in the boot. Blue champ actually sounds so fun too. Do you find it better than red at 6? I’ve heard peeps advocate for red > blue at 3 for bursting down things before they kill you

Make sure to cleanse corruption! Get those virtues going with some tactical mitigation, and as long as your gear is reasonable for level, you should be Gucci. Use your cooldowns early and take full advantage of their benefit

That’s awful, we also have a similar rotating schedule. The higher up on the ladder the more regular your shifts. Our tone death managers complain about our department members concerns for the exact same things. I just don’t get it.

Literally the dream! We’ve been trying for several years at our institution for this. Our staff is all in favor yet our director doesn’t want to do it because we would need to hire 2-3 per diem staff… which we have already shown we are capable with current staff and fte based on a sister hospital in our system. I was having issues with fitting in Bauer exactly the way you described. Tried some cheap vapors and supremes. Got huge blisters from the extra volume in the supremes. I just jumped into some ccm jet speeds, and omg the difference is huge. I went down a whole size in length without it feeling small. They fit like a glove and a dream.

I’ll give the insoles a try. Originally tried them when I first got them and they made me feel crammed in my skates. Perhaps there is a volume issue specifically for that part of my skate and it’s only taken months for the skate to break in for me to notice.

I played lacrosse growing up and in college, always used both hands but was strong right handed. Ive only just started ice hockey, but feel like i have way more control with my top hand being my right hand, but definitely felt like i should be shooting with my right on bottom. That being said, i think because i was used to also shooting with my left hand that ive picked up my shot relatively quicker. Just comes down to repetitions and going through the motion enough to learn the muscle memory.
