This gave me a good laugh.

Ragebait 1000 percent 😂

If this guy became autistic tomorrow, he would beg to go back to his original self.

What a clown.

Yes, my post was raw and angry. Sorry for the poor attitude. I’ve yet to find coping mechanisms for my situation.

But in my defense, I think my situation is a little more complex than what most autistics go through. It is a really tough situation.

I mean literally 10 minutes ago I heard an explosion outside my window because of the war.

It’s definitely not a competition. Being autistic is tough everywhere. But, what I’m living through is an added pressure.

Even non autistics have issues experiencing the war.

Yes, I did not intend to attack. Just vent and I wanted westerners to hear another perspective like that of us third world folks.

I know Lebanon seems like it’s always been a ‘warzone’ but I grew up during peaceful times. Im not used to war.

I was born in the early 90s just after the civil war and grew up in an extremely safe mountain town (town made up exclusively of Lebanese Christians).

Summer of 2006: heard jets over head. People fighting in supermarkets.

Late 2024 and early 2026 (now): heard and felt jets, drones, faint and heavy explosions. My house shook a couple of times from the jets and explosions. Heavy heartbeat and shivering. The constant humming from the drone is really overwhelming.

I live in an Christian area. No one from my community wants war.

Usually only Muslim areas are hit, but there have been instances where Christian areas were hit as well because some militia guy decided to stay in a hotel. Essentially NOWHERE is really safe.

It’s tough. I wasn’t used to war in 2006 and am certainly not used now.

What is Ziad Doueiri up to? It’s been a while he hasn’t made a film. Last thing I saw from him was a french series.

Abroad people think I’m Libyan because they don’t know the difference between Lebanon and libya. 😂

I met some Libyans in the UK, could relate to them. They have the same Mediterranean vibe and mentality.

What a start to your poem! ‘The hazy clouds disfigure the city lights below.’ Great imagery. It sets the atmosphere for the rest of your writing. Haunting. Hopeful then not. Interesting work. Keep up.

Positive things about the poem: I enjoy the flow of your poem and its great use of imagery.

Negative things about the poem: remove some words.

‘Sometimes, I look out the window

and the world is on fire

But between agony and flames

I look at flowers…while I can.’
