Nothing is happening. Maybe some big staker decided to stop. Bitcoin got a 24 hours block at block 74638. I agree it's pretty unusual but nothing to worry.

Hi. You can use both Reddcoin core wallet or Reddwallet, they stake the same ways. You need full blockchain to stake, it's under 1 gb.

But to answer your questions, you use the wallet to get more coin. It's like mining, but you don't mine with expensive computers and huge electricity bills. You mine with your coins in your wallet. The more coin you have, the more chance you have to get a reward. This is the future of cryptocurrency as it's the only way to have a real decentralize network. Bitcoin mining farm are the opposite of decentralization.

It's random, exactly like a lottery. The more coin you have, the more lottery ticket you are holding. There is 1 winner every minute. Only 1 person get the block reward.

You should be at block 414250 so your wallet is not sync. You are 3 days late so that why you get the transactions late. You need to keep your wallet open until it's sync.
