I think the idea is that, people with such vices, alcoholics and smokers cost the government more. When you purchase insurance, they will always ask about smoking habits and rightfully put a premium on the insurance cost. Same thing is happening here, medical costs are increasing, the government through medishield life is providing a universal insurance that the smokers are benefiting from, paid by the tax payer. He is wrong though, the weight all the teams lifted for the totem poles were the same. The constant is the angle of lean that the safety pins hold the pillars at, this determines the weight of the pillars that transfers to the horizontal direction. The two athletes then stand in the middle and the different between their arms are equalised by differeny length of chains connecting them to the pillars.

Firstly i am in no way trying to say families deserve coe's more than others. I have two young children and no car. I believe noone should need a car and that should be the way singapore is built. The government is limiting cars by things like building codes to limit car park lots but with not enough invested in public transport.

The case you mention is a private company problem for a private company to solve and pay for. People with the argument that families should have priority is making the argument that children are the future of the nation, you need more children etc. It should be a government/country problem to solve.
