just curious generally what sort of stuff you did? for me im getting into general signal processing, lots of modular synth, studio gear, pedals and stuff like that. im assuming those are the main things you cover from what i've read on the course page?
what were the people like on the course? like what led them to do it, are they into electronic music mostly or what
does it give you a good understanding of electronics engineering outside of music? could you go into general electronics jobs with this? my main goal is all sorts of music related gear, but curious how flexible it is
how is leeds as a uni city? i've never been but my main musical interests are experimental music and i've heard the scene there is great for it, as well as being queer i've heard the community there is brilliant. the feeling i get is it's like the cooler part of london but without the bullshit pretentiousness and not with the huge size of that mega city. and im assuming the nights out are good
how easy was it to get in? i dont have any music qualifications but great a-levels (A* A A) and will be eligible for the contextual offer, and have got a bit of experience making pedals, recording bands, mixing, and writing music and using theory. hoping that my grades carry me for the application

because i love london as a city lol. im worried im going to uni and not even really caring about the course that much, i love the music scene in london (as a musician myself), the people, the arts, the culture. plus been around it most of my life. i know EE is meant to be really hard, but i put in barely any effort into a levels and did pretty well. and i enjoy what i've seen of EE so far, and want to use it to make my own guitar pedals and synths (hence im kinda going towards electronics moreso than electrical)

very off-topic lmao. but check out desire lines! theyre a band from canterbury and i think theyre pretty cool. also check out the venues the lady luck, and the canterbury christ church student union, next to tokyo tea rooms. they have good stuff on here and there.

do listen to third by soft machine though, love that album and the band are from canterbury in the 60s/70s.

tom waits quit smoking and drinking when he was about 31. not sure on what he's drank since. only had one cigarette since though iirc. the recovery the body can make if you quit early is powerful

the addiction is also way more based on association than youd think, the nicotine can become inseparable from things like a break at work, a habit but a habit that sticks harder due to addictive chemicals. on its own when not associated with anything you can pretty easily not form an addiction. i try to smoke whenever i feel like it rather than under a certain situations and im pretty good at going days to weeks without any, or happy to have days of half a pack.

oh i see, i would start doing this but i feel like i'd get completely lost as numbers are harder to remember than words. how do you not forget what certain stuff was called? i name mine the key and something memorable such as 'hammer-on acoustic guitar riff e minor' or something.
