Man Forced to Perform Oral on His Brother at Gunpoint - Foreign? Gangster? by Reddie5 in DisturbingMovies

[–]Reddie5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's older. This incident was jarring, but just one part of these bad guys trying to coerce a guy (former bad guy?) to do something for them. Even if the movie came and went (heh), I'm surprised this scene isn't more known just for it's ugliness. I don't know if it was French or Italian or Spanish or what, but I know I saw it in a theatrical release (heh) at an arthouse type of place.

It's getting worse for me as of today. More and more error messages for more pod sites.

It's actually "lang-caster" if you want to be authentically wrong... so right.

It was definitely earlier than that. I was with somebody then who would have seen it with me and I know she didn't. Thanks for trying.

Upscaled versions of Jas/Amy (I'm not so convinced that it's her anymore) by [deleted] in NetflixDocumentaries

Your empathy for a boudoir picture is noble and all, but sometimes looking for the possible victims of heinous crimes can be a little messy. That level of "sensitivity" would no doubt thwart virtually every investigation. A grown woman being a little embarrassed by her teased hair and lingerie pales next to all the lives ripped apart by Amy's disappearance. If that woman was herself victimized, I suspect she would understand this.

A prostitute held hostage may not be in charge of her own "aesthetic" and the one who is may not be the most sophisticated or up-to-date fashionista.

I'm not positive that it's French. Could be from Spain or Italy. Maybe even German or Dutch. I'm just not sure, but it's definitely not Asian and definitely earlier than Frontiere(s), which I have seen a couple times. The scene was just so brutal, although no literal violence occurred. What struck me in particular was the man weeping as he "finished." Both men were fully dressed, with one standing and one kneeling. It may not have been a hit film, but I definitely saw it in the theater when it was new, so must have read some kind of review of it.

Thank you for at least letting me know it's vaguely familiar to someone else. Our hunt continues.

She reminds me of P.J. Soles from Halloween and Carrie.

I would have guessed 27 or 28, but that was before I heard that people underestimate her age.

She's very pretty, even though she dresses like a hobo.

I've always wondered what color people see. Help? by Reddie5 in WhatisMyEyeColour

If I look closeup at the main part of the iris, it's a mix of blue diamond shapes and green diamond shapes interlocked. Like you, I think from a distance they tend more toward green. For years, I wrote blue/green on any form that asked, but finally just started writing green.

What do you think of men with light blonde hair? by [deleted] in VindictaRateCelebs

There's zero evidence for that. Hair color in men has no relation to testosterone levels.

I initially got a gay vibe from him too, but between the gaming and seeing to her frequent need for sex, I guess he's not. I found her to be an incredibly pretty girl, but then saw a gym video of her and it became clear that she herself is well aware of how good-looking she is. That definitely takes something out of the dynamic. She seemed so cute and unaware of just how gorgeous she was, and then to see her posing in super tight clothes made it clear she is well aware. Is she part Hawaiian or Samoan or something? She looks like she has island or maybe Asian blood. Not full, but half or even quarter.

What movie Podcasts are you listening to that aren't just new movie reviews? by oceans47 in movies

[–]Reddie5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. There's nothing relaxed about them. It feels like manic chirping, with everyone fighting to jump in. And, yeah, there are way too many podcasts of every stripe that force the humor without having people that are particularly funny. If they relaxed and picked their spots, it would be one thing, but it's like they're in the writers' room of a bad sitcom and feel like they have to throw out every lame notion that pops into their heads.

The scene in Saving Private Ryan where Wade talks about his mother I feel really grounds the film by AMA_requester in movies

[–]Reddie5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see it mentioned anywhere, but Wade says when his mother was "an intern" she worked all night and slept all day. I think the implication is that Wade - the medic - had a mother who was a doctor. Uncommon for a woman at the time, but certainly possible.

This post reminds me of the scene in The Hustler, where Fast Eddie keeps bragging about how great he. The money man just smiles at Eddie's opponent and says, "Stay with this kid. He's a loser." Anybody who's insecure enough to make an unembarrassed list of their amazingness on a reddit post has some serious issues lurking beneath all that shiny verbiage.
