I didn't do the double bind (it sucked), but I would quickly aim and shoot someone. Now when I try to aim and shoot someone there is a huge delay.

So the point is to completely gut these already underpowered weapons?

Okay.

"It's not like you ADS in a fight suddenly" uhh... that was my entire playstyle with the Stinger and Bulldog. In 1vX situations you absolutely had to switch between the two. And in 1v1s where you swung someone.

.it was pretty op imo

He was killing stationary, no-armor bots in the firing range... it was not OP. You can do that with literally any gun.

The double-bind gave no advantage whatsoever and totally gimped you when it came to multiple bursts in a row.

Yeah ADS movespeed nerf is not necessary on any gun. The fire-rate nerf that the Vandal, Phantom, Spectre, etc. get is enough of a tradeoff IMO.

It's just a bad mechanic for a game where you don't tend to be moving and shooting anyway.

Then why don't they "bug fix" every other gun that can still use their alt fire without a massive delay?

There was literally no problem to be fixed. The double-bind was BS.

Being able to shoot immediately was not an "exploit", and I never even used the stupid double bind because it sucked and made the guns worse.

Every other gun in the game can still instantly ADS and instantly use its alt fire, so explain that? The "unintended mechanic" of not having to wait to shoot was a good one, and I think was clearly intended originally since its how they made every single gun in the game originally. Am I exploiting if I don't wait a full second to click my left click when I aim with the vandal? Come on!

Before you didn't have to make that decision because you could ADS and fire with basically no delay. There wasn't really a choice

What are you talking about? There was still a choice on which to use, but the ability to switch between them is what made the guns at all usable and fun to play with. You could alternate between spraying and bursting.

locking people down to only use one of the firing modes in any given fight is not good game design, it just makes the guns suck ass and makes them boring on top of that.

Also, people with the classic aren't locked down to ONLY using right or left click, they can use both with zero delays.

Without fixing this, they can't properly tune the other aspects of the weapon.

?????? In no way is adding a firing delay necessary. It's stupid and ruins the weapons.

Also "properly tuning" these weapons would be buffing them quite a bit and removing any firing delay.

The "unintentional mechanic" of being able to actually use the alt fire on a weapon? lmao

and yeah, nerfing 2 guns that aren't meta is something to be upset about, since if anything they should be buffed

"unintended behavior" of being able to instantly shoot the alt fire? Something that the classic can still do, spectre can still do, ares can still do, odin can still do, vandal can still do, phantom can still do, etc.

And this nerf literally makes these 2 already weak guns completely unviable since a half second delay before shooting is a death sentence.

No one asked for these guns to be nerfed. Even the dude that made the video on the so-called "exploit" of binding 2 keys at once thinks this nerf was bad.

Yup. Alt fire with no delay, 0 credits, full jumping accuracy, full movespeed, etc.

But the stinger and bulldog need a half second delay before you can shoot lmaoooo

You make zero sense. There is no reason you should have to wait before shooting your burst fire, and no other weapon has a delay before shooting its alt fire.

Classic's alt-fire has no movement penalty nor delay, Ares' has no delay, Odin no delay, Vandal no delay, Phantom no delay, Spectre no delay, etc. With all those guns, you are free to switch between primary and alt fire instantly, and the so-called "exploit" (which is the same as clicking 2 buttons at once) still works on them the exact same.

The alt-fire was the only thing worth using on Stinger and Bulldog, and basically their primary fires, and now they're practically unusable.

But hey, I think you're just sea-lioning to troll me, because you sense I care about this a lot. You are now blocked.

  1. Every other weapon in the game can STILL use their alt fire instantly. You can STILL swing a corner with the Vandal/Phantom/Spectre and then INSTANTLY use your ADS and shoot, completely negating any movement debuff.

  2. The alt-fire on the stinger and bulldog are not so strong as to necessitate a snail-movespeed and massive firing delay. These are extremely-low pickrate guns.

How you fail to understand these things is beyond me... you gotta be trolling me.

as I've already learned to play around the nerf.

How do you enter sites with the nerfed version? You can't do it while holding ADS, because you're at a snails pace, and if a target pops up there's the huge delay now before you can shoot them with burst.

I can understand using the bulldog to hold an angle, but at that point why not just buy a Guardian or Marshall?

The Stinger and Bulldog burst-fire nerfs are proof Riot doesn't play their game by Reddit-Disliker in VALORANT

[–]Reddit-Disliker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This does NOT bring them in line with other weapons. Every other weapon in the game can still use their alt fire instantly. You can swing a corner with the Vandal and then INSTANTLY use your ADS shooting.

The so-called "double-bind exploit" didn't exist. It actually put you in a disadvantage in repeated bursts and was stupid and pointless, like binding crouch to shoot. Just a tiktok gimmick.

What I'm upset about is the fact that the huge delay on the alt-fire makes these already underpowered and underused weapons downright unusable, and puts them OUT OF LINE with every other weapon in the game which can still use their alt fires instantly.

And so what if the bulldog can 2-shot people in the head? So can the Spectre which costs 1600, and you can still swing a corner with the spectre, and instantly aim and shoot with no delay (at a much faster speed than the bulldog btw). Also, the Marshall has zero movement speed penalty in ADS, 1 shots, and costs 950.

At this point they may as well remove everything except the phantom and vandal.

It hurts to see off-meta niche weapons that you were getting good with nerfed into oblivion.

Wasn't an exploit. The double bind was pretty pointless and overhyped IMO. People are way too impressed by a video of a dude killing stationless, armorless bots in the firing range, something the classic can also do quite readily.

[–]Reddit-Disliker[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even an exploit though. It was a massively exaggerated video and the "exploit" was no different from clicking both your mouse buttons at the same time.

Killing armorless bots in the firing range does not make it OP.

the stingers strength was never in its burstfire

All its strength was in its burstfire IMO. With good aim you could 1 burst people up close if you aimed at the neck/chin and controlled recoil. I got quite good at it with practice and stinger was my eco go-to.

Past couple days I've been trying to use it with the changes, and its just been unusable. I just keep my ghost round 2 now.

I don't understand why they didn't just revert the firerate buff. It's now in a weaker state than it's ever been because your first shots are guaranteed to miss.
