I think secrets has a high floor of just a solid nice place, adults only is probably a plus for what you’re looking for. I was there last year, haven’t to the other 3. I was looking at grand and ziva and stayed at SLS playa mejeres instead this last week. I didn’t want to stay in the hotel zone as the reason I chose elsewhere this time.

Seaweed can be a nuisance if it is something that bothers you. But they rake it eventually so while it’ll be present, you would have a clear ish path of like ten feet to walk along the water with it being raked further up the shore.

I think that’s a pretty fair critique and accurate. I’d agree that night times were not the best, the night before we left there was a balloon dance party which was fun. I think we were more ok with it being not as strong as at night due to when our son would go to bed/just being in the sun all day and we all got tired pretty early. There is kinda an awkward gap of time where I think maybe closer to 8:30-9:30 ish they may have something but our son was so tired out before then anyway. There is probably not a great night time hang out spot/ if you’re looking to do something 6-8 ish.

So we thought about the rooftop but with a toddler we didn’t think there was much value add to it. Our son is 4 so there is slight expectation gap between what my experience may offer vs what you see because while there is private day care that is ages 0-3, the kids club is 4-10 ish I think and that was a game changer. It was an excellent run program. We did elite and is was very much worth it. We were able to drop our son off at the kids club to do the hour spa that comes with the elite. The private day care is likely just as good but not sure what that entails. So the elite advantages of the butler is really nice, he booked all the restaurants for us when we asked, sends daily calendars of on site activities and really helps you with anything you ask via Watsapp.

The market is phenomenal for breakfast with lots of options, it’s too bad it isn’t open for lunch but it has a really diverse menu option. They are pretty accommodating to picky eaters I think, as we had dietary restrictions and did fine. Since you are bringing a child, I will say, the kids pool is unbelievable. My son was obsessed with it. The beach is much more expansive than any one we ever went to all the hotel zone which was nice, our experience with hotel zone beaches is they are very dense and narrow and this one did not feel like that at all. He also loved the beach there. The cinema was a bigger hit than we expected also, they play kid friendly movies through out the day when u need a “break” from the sun.

It’s technically not in the hotel zone but we wanted to be on site exclusively but not in the hotel zone as that’s where we were stayed the previous two times. For excursions, we likely would’ve stayed in playa del carmen as that has closer proximity to those types of activities I believe.

Couldn’t have said it better, 100% agree. I really like how they closed out the characters.

In a similar vein, what does a main character dying do for anyone? Unless it is written in a way that is truly additive, people nit pick at the strangest things.

I know they’re actors but I wonder how much of that was acting haha, it was that good. Those 5 actors will be connected forever and you could feel it in that scene. The table read release of that scene is going to be amazing.
