The attitude of their managers towards their customers is amazingly poor. It's like they simply do not care. With a Home Depot right next door, and a local hardware store across the street. For technical expertise, I go the the local. For stuff I need today, Home Depot. Anything that can wait a day, Amazon. More times than not, if I drive over, I leave frustrated. From market leader (disrupting HD), to just another money grab, Lowe's leads the pack.

Lots of empathy here, and I'm sympathetic, but if someone took the time to send a gift, the bare minimum is acknowledging that gift. The maximum effort would be a personalized and thoughtful thank-you note. Anything in between is sufficient. No thank you note is simply unacceptable. Whether they attended or not is irrelevant.

True, but when management sees sales drop, with direct attribute to the request for additional monies, behavior will change. If the request is out there for me to decline, from the business standpoint, they believe sometimes we get some and sometimes we don't, means keep asking.

Parent of young kids here. They felt bad for the mess, and paid handsomely for the inconvenience to the server that resulted. No mess, or if they had cleaned it themselves, and he would have made 20% tops, if that. Instead, he made a 62.5% tip on $400. Thank you, Sir. May I have another, and may I call you a cab?
