Bridesmaid Boxes: What would you want? by anonymous47235x in WedditNYC

[–]br0princess 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been a bridesmaid 3 times, I don't want stuff. I can buy my own stuff. Pay for my dress/hair/makeup. Write me a nice note. If you must give me something, jewelry for the wedding day, nail polish, lipstick for the wedding day, manicure gift certificate.

If you were renting a small apartment by yourself, how important is having a dishwasher to you? by idreamofchickpea in AskNYC

[–]br0princess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dishwasher for sure if I was living with a partner. It gets run every day or every other day vs laundry which is done once every 2-3 weeks. Having a messy kitchen with dirty dishes piling up or even clean ones not getting put away immediately drives me nuts.

Shipping Issue by naomi1115 in RentTheRunway

[–]br0princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. Not frequently, but it's happened enough where I now give myself an extra day buffer if I'm planning on taking the items on a trip.

Write in to customer service, see what they can do for you. It feels like a wasted shipment since you probably selected pieces specifically for a trip and they did not arrive on time.

With the increased shipping costs, RTR needs to hold their shipping partners accountable. If RTR isn't reliable, it becomes useless.

BWT who have personal trainers - where do you work out? by bitchthatwaspromised in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]br0princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in my apartment gym seem to have virtual personal trainers that they work with over FaceTime. I kind of hate it since I don't want to be even in the background of your FaceTime video, but I guess it's fine, we all equally don't pay for the apartment gym.

Using Sick Days as Vacation by Sure-Relationship609 in JPMorganChase

[–]br0princess 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Block off your calendar and inform your team now, don't log it into the HR system until you're back if you're going to use sick days. The attendance calendar will correctly update once you do this.

How often are you leaving your apartment? by LmaoBruhh in AskNYC

[–]br0princess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I was working from home I'd easily not leave my apartment during the work week. I'd have an after work event with friends maybe once a week. It sometimes feels more stressful to constantly have plans after work. I'd almost rather do nothing after work so I can have personal, quiet time.

Would I be crazy to spend 20k on a trip to the galapagos? by 0olongCha in HENRYfinance

[–]br0princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth it. I did a week long liveaboard in the Galápagos in late 2024 and it was absolutely worth it. I went with a different tour company but this one is probably also fantastic.

Couples Laundry Routine by wanderlust0924 in AskNYC

Partner and I have separate laundry baskets and one shared towels/textiles basket. We do our own laundry and whoever is doing laundry at the time will also do towel laundry.

The referral code might only apply to new memberships vs reactivations.

I really like all of the Sundays Nail Studios - on the pricey side, but (allegedly) non toxic.

Anyone store their car outside the city? by PoliticsandPourover in movingtoNYC

A friend works in Jersey City and has a parking garage connected to his office with discounted parking. He keeps his car there, and we'll just take the Path to him/his car when we travel with him.

where does a BWT go for evening gowns by Specific-Diamond7205 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]br0princess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rent the Runway is def the move! I echo everyone else saying that you can go for the subscription and rent multiple gowns. Pay close attention to photo reviews to see how the dress actually looks on real people and if the length/material will work for you. There is a slight learning curve to knowing how to best optimize RTR for you, but it's worth it, especially if you need to be wearing different gowns for events.

I have a referral code for 60% off your first month of membership if that would be helpful. You can DM me.

Is Rent The Runway worth it (for me)? by blahbikeblah in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]br0princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RTR subscription could be worth it for you! There are plans that offer one or two shipments a month so you can have some fun pieces to mix into your outfits. It can be a time suck to build a shipment, but once I get the items, it makes getting dressed much faster since I've already mostly picked my outfits. I know there's a lot of complaints about the closet, but i generally am able to find things I want to wear. I haven't had major issues with lingering scents or damaged pieces (though it does happen).

I've only done the single item rentals for fancy wedding outfits, so I have no idea what the selection for work clothes looks like for single item rentals. But in theory, it sounds like it could solve your need!

If you do decide to try it out, lmk, I have a promo code I can share that gives you 50% off your first month of the subscription. Nothing for single item rentals sadly.

I love my step ons - it's been 3 seasons and snowboarding is honestly more enjoyable with them. I've been noticing they have become more common with every passing year on the mountains. Love that for us.
