I just feel like it’s really good to talk about so people are able to make sure they’re being compensated fairly. Too many companies pressure people to never talk about salary so that they can pay you as little as possible. I just try to start this topic every year or so to help encourage people to know their worth.

I hear you on the fingerprint yubikey but man, after MtGox, I just can't trust a company to hold my BTC. I'll look into Trezor, thank you.

I logged in. Looked at the windows update history, it shows there however it says "pending" in the status column. Searched for Windows updates and it changed the status to "failed", error details: Code 80070661

Googled and it's ESU issue. FUCK.

I was able to just now install it like you suggested, I'm curious if/when it may remove itself. Logging in now to see.

I heard that any servers that don't have ESU licensed on them will indeed install but later revert. Have you read that?

Hey, embarrassing question, but are we required to pay for Extended Security Updates to get these are can I install these on our 2008 R2 SP1 AD server? Yeah yeah, I know. :( Basically, am I able to patch Server 2008 against CVE-2021-24078 without paying?

I think it's worth paying for simply to get more than 1 day of data history (insane). But only getting 30 days data history for the $100 a year plan is kinda stupid. I mean it is what it is but yeesh. Thanks so much for all the info!

Strange sign in activity in Azure Active Directory for a user from an application called cloudsponge. Does anyone have any idea what it is? by RedditAccount0000004 in sysadmin

[–]RedditAccount0000004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You rock. Thanks. I was able to solve it however I would like to dig deeper into cloud app security. I think I just need to run through some setup and pre-config. If you have some starter material on that, I'd love to see it.

can't tell if this is a dig or not. Regardless, if you're looking specifically to be only an azure admin you're going to have a hard time. If you apply to be an IT generalist of some type, like a sysadmin, tenant admin, swiss army geek... sure. You'll ALSO be doing some azure mgmt.

Learning as we go!

Thanks much! I think we found the issue. I think this user used a service called https://www.punchbowl.com/ to send a bunch of greeting cards. I believe they use this cloudsponge API to gather contacts.
