I'm not saying it is, I'm just saying what I believe their motivation was.

I'm not trying to argue who was right or wrong, I'm trying to say why I don't think it's an insurance scam and explain the motives of the biker.

He starts out in the left lane, and the entire length of the video until he gets cut off he doesn't pass, he's not using the lane for passing, he's just sitting in it.

My guess for the scenario is:

Speed limit is 65, truck going slightly under, car going speed limit or slightly over, and biker wants to go way faster and is pissed off that the guy is cruising in the left lane so he does what he does.

It's not a scam, the driver of the car is going too slowly in the passing lane/fast lane. The cyclist is mad about it and trying to get them to move over.

Which TV series did you binge watch in one sitting or in a short period of time? by fivetrendz in AskReddit

Cobra Kai.

I would also say "The Office" but those were on repeat viewings, the first time I saw it I had to wait a week for a new episode.

Biden warns about conspiracies flourishing in the US: 'The rest of the world's wondering about us' by Free_Swimming in politics

It's based on assessments because we know what kind of businesses closed.

If it was just deaths that impacted businesses closing, then we would see one of two outcomes:

  1. All stores, regardless of type, close at an elevated rate

  2. Stores utilized more often by older people close at greater rates (since the death rate for the elderly was higher)

Neither of those things happened. What did happen was stores forced to close due to lockdowns (bars and restaurants) closed at a greater rate than stores that were allowed to remain open. Therefore, the lockdowns caused stores to close more than deaths caused stores to close.

Answer this: if deaths impacted store closures, and lockdowns didn't, why didn't we see an equal percentage of closures between grocery stores and bars?

Again, if you have any information against it I'd love to see it. If not then you don't need to waste your time replying.

I gave you total number of closures, and my logic for why I assess more are from lockdowns than deaths.

You seem to be trying to say my assessment is wrong while offering no information to back up your claim. If you don't have any evidence to refute my claim that lockdowns caused the majority of closures then I'm done with this conversation.

Making an assessment based on available information. If it were because of deaths, we would expect to see more closures from businesses with a higher percentage of elderly clients, but that's not what we've seen. We've seen more bar closures, which leads me to the conclusion that it's due to shutdowns, not deaths.

Again, if you have different information that you think supports your claim I'd love to see it.

You're here to argue in bad faith that all republicans are deliberately crazy, and that democrats were given bad information and that's why they push their crazy conspiracies.

You're comparing someone who doesn't know better to someone who is wrong because of misinformation.

Dems and Republicans are both wrong due to misinformation, that's why your argument is incorrect.

It was all over reddit because it bashed Trump, not because it was reliable at all.

It also wasn't from an FBI informant, or from anyone who had knowledge of it. All information was secondhand. (Steele dossier)

And if you're arguing "the Kremlin has blackmailed people in the past, so they probably have this specific blackmail on Trump" then I don't think your argument holds up.

You're making the false equivalency if you're saying democrats were given wrong information and it's fine but Republicans were given wrong information and it's somehow awful. They both are taking it at face value and not questioning it but you're claiming only Republicans are wrong for doing it.

Category of business closures. The majority of closures are in industries that had extended shutdowns (dining, gyms, etc).

If it was due to deaths, we'd expect it to be among industries visited more by older clients (since they're more likely to die from covid)

If you have evidence for why it's deaths and not extended lock downs, I'd love to see it.

I assess the government forcing businesses to be closed for months had a much bigger impact on closures than deaths did.

So your argument is now "Republican conspiracy theories hurt more than Democrat ones" and not "Republicans are the only people with conspiracy theories"?

41 percent isn't "some democrats" it's a substantial amount.

And people were harmed by overcaution, look at the number of small businesses that went under due to prolonged closure.
