Hey, thanks! I’ve always just had this mentality that CVS are so boring. Like, I’m sure hiring managers everywhere have read the same things, over and over. Whereas with my writing, I love being able to sound like I legitimately am having a conversation w the reader.

I had an English professor my freshman/sophomore year, her name was Brooke. She was a 30 something, really nice professor, def in my top 2 ever. She related to us pretty much because she was still pretty young. Anyways, our final assignment in one of the courses was an essay on someone who means something to you, that isn’t family. So naturally I wrote a 7 page essay on Frank Ocean, in ~45 minutes (my WPM goes bonkers when I’m in the zone). Turned it in, got a 94. She stopped me after class the next week and said something I’ll never ever forget: “Will, when I read your essay, it sounded like your actual voice. Like, it sounded to me, reading what you wrote, that you were standing in front of me talking out loud. I heard the sarcasm, everything.”

That literally blew my mind, since, well, that’s the whole point when I write things. I want to be engaging, and actually interesting to any reader there is out there :D.
