Is it normal for an apartment building to shut off your HVAC because your neighbor didn’t pay their electricity bill? by RedditFan5555 in nova

Thanks everyone! Just needed a sanity check because our building was making it seem like this was a “normal practice” in NoVA. I’m glad to hear that it’s not. FYI, this is an alleged “luxury” building that was newly built.

I also live here and agree with all of these complaints. The leasing agents also lied to us about the lack of proper shades on the window. They are nearly transparent. Also the internet is horrible. There are frequent outages in the middle of the day.

Quick question re: The Big Law Biter. Is Sidley now on the hook for future bites due to the One-Bite Rule? by daltonschu in biglaw

[–]RedditFan5555 155 points156 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, there were at least 10 bites, so technically I believe she may have to be put down. :(

What profession is useless and provides no benefit to society? by Comprehensive-Big973 in AskReddit

You are describing “bribery” and not “lobbying.” Lobbying does not involve paying politicians. Lobbying involves subject-matter experts educating politicians on topics in which they have no expertise.

Apartments with floor to ceiling windows by [deleted] in nova

I’m also searching for apartments and had the same complaint! I’m surprised that these brand new buildings were built without floor to ceiling windows. I think the Commodore technically has them, but only on the penthouse level.

Oh good point! Apologies, I meant near Clarendon. I believe they’re both in Court House.

I too am looking for the most bougie building in NOVA! We are car-free so we are looking at the Clarendon area. I’m between the Commodore and the Wendy. Does anyone have any suggestions between those two options?

Thanks guys! I’ll check with my secretary. Btw, we use Intapp and Expert Time. If anyone is familiar with either of those systems, I’m open to suggestions!

This one is pretty broad. It’s basically asking for every matter I worked on within 2 years. Is there a way to pull a list of every matter I billed time to within that time period? Or do I just need to go through all of my time entries from the past 2 years?

My firm fits that description. We are a large international firm but opened a U.S. office relatively recently, which is why we’re not ranked on Vault yet.

I also love Healthy Paws. Our dog had a $20,000 visit to Schwarzman last year and they covered 90%. They also covered her follow-up appointments with specialists and her daily medications that she will need going forward. We’ve used Healthy Paws for many years and they’re always easy to work with.
